I think you've got to look at Hopkins reign as Pre Edin and Post Edin and the league table where we are 8 points adrift was just before Rhodes came in. Since then results have been more of a mid table standard Played 16 points 23 . Not great but a significant improvement.

    Fair few = 1 or 2.

They’re 22nd in the form table over the last 10.

Sorry, I just don’t see how he’s some magic alternative to what we currently have.

I don't disagree, but getting shut of Edin gives us hope for the future - not an immediate turn around.

Hopefully we'll never recruit so badly again, never plan a preseason so badly again, never demoralise so many players again, never treat people so badly again, etc, etc, etc

But that doesn't mean Hopkin should have been able to make everything better just because that grade A ding-dong had left.

I agree but I see similarities with Parkinson’s season 2 and we all know how the cup can distract league form.

As i mentioned its what spin you put on it, its easy to take a run of results and use it to make a point. For instance our last 12 games have yielded 18 points, the sort of form needed to escape relegation yet our last 6 game have only netted 6 points. Thats relegation form. We hit a hot streak like December we stay up, our overall record suggests we won't and the big test is to come in March with a run of games against teams around the top 6. If we fail to win on Saturday the lack of points from the last three easily winnable games could prove telling.

Can I refer you all to @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler comments that it would probably take 5 years to recover from the Rahic Project. I don’t think he was specific on whether it was on field or off, but we all know the two are symbiotic with each other. Asking our manager to turn it round within 6 months is ludicrous. Of course the whole management and playing personnel are giving it their best and hope to keep us up. I find really very dissapointing that some fans are now quite prepared to park the whole responsibility at DH door!

Hang on, he threw around an unsubstantiated claim, was unable to back it up AND was actually incorrect.

Remember, it was HE that told me that I was wrong in the first place, but then posted inaccuracies himself.
Glass houses is correct, but you’re aiming that comment at the wrong person

To be fair though Jon, we DID improve and we did climb out of the relegation zone for a short while. However, teams worked out it was easy to play against and since then our form and tactics have been woeful, resulting in us being back in the bottom2.

And don’t forget that thousands are still staying away because of the poor offering on show (actual attendances have been around 10k for a while now).

Especially as Edin had allowed him to be the manager and bring in free transfers and his own coaching staff. It was Hopkin’s decision to defer those decisions.

At the end of the day, 1pt per game is no better than Collins, despite getting all he wanted in order to get us out of the mess. Collins was Rahic’s puppet and still gained the same ratio of points per game

    Oh please stop!

So we just allow all of this season targets and aims to go out of the window. What kind of business does that?

Hopkin is responsible for on the pitch matters and is failing at this moment.

We should of just kept Collins if we're going to just make up excuses for on the pitch matters.

    Dire football
    Clueless tactics
    0 goal in 3 games
    1 up top.
    2nd from bottom.

This has nothing to do with Edin or a 5 year recovery plan.

Hopkin has to go if we go down as he would of failed and won't be the man to lead us back up.

Who has said they expect to “turn it around within 6 months” though?

I think fans just want to see improvement and if you exclude December, our current form and/or style of play is no better than when he first took over. Take out our purple patch, have you seen anything (anything at all) since January 1st that gives you confidence we will get enough wins to get out of this mess? Especially as we struggled to break down teams in supposedly ‘winnable’ games and now have a run of very difficult matches.

If a business' own performance sees it running the risk of bankruptcy, do you really think they would stick with the original non-bankruptcy based aims and goals?

Shit no, it would be all about redundancies and stream lining.

Stop on but that's why the Jan transfer window is a simple.

GET BETTER THAN THE 1st TEAM PLAYERS OR DONT BOTHER!

    P' O'Connor - waste
    Anderson - waste
    Clarke- waste

Woods and Butterfield are the only players you think ok then.

    However- Woods injury prone
Butterfield on high wages and we've have 5 players that can play in his position.

So don't come back with point about being responsible when Hopkin's transfers have been irresponsible on the highest level.

Actually we did need competition for places, even with a slight overstock of certain positions.

Wright won't ever play for City again, nor Riley - so we signed Anderson and O'connor.

    A few players left.

The best value forward apparently was Clarke. He'll play more games than not.

We don't have a natural fox in the box and unless you can do what Town did to us with Nahki, virtually impossible to get one in January(ask Mackem fans). Billy and JB are good footballers and as they get more time under their belts, I feel they will do enough to keep us up but at this moment, we can expect no more. Then after, we can only cross one bridge at a time. As a club we have taken one big kicking and such a setback takes longer to correct than effect. Most of us will still turn up, cheer on the lads and a lot of the time will carry on to moan like hell. Tell you what; having a couple of beers then spending a couple of hours biting my nails is still preferable to no footie on a Saturday afternoon.
