Well I cannot remember anyone clamouring for DH specifically, After the clown manager Edin appointed we were happy to see anyone who had some football experience, History and results are showing we chose the wrong man

After what he did at Livingston there were many people hoping he'd be appointed. Particularly when the rumour spread that apparently he'd been interviewed in the Summer.

Like he’d come here now, at this stage. Wouldn’t be much of a step up for him.

I cannot imagine him being interested in leaving his hometown club to join us.

I would look no further than unemployed Paul Hurst

Flynn has spoken over the weekend about how much Newport (the place and the club) means to him. Just why would he walk away from all that to join the utter shambles that is BCFC? The fact that he played here is utterly irrelevant.

Me too. He shouldn't be allowed in the game after what he did at Boston. He and his sidekick Rayner are a revolting spectacle in terms of behaviour off the pitch and the behaviour he encouraged on it. He gets any success from spending shed loads of the owners money like a kid in a sweet shop.
Not keen on Hurst either. Very defensive style.

If you could go back to the old Claret and Banter in 2012 , you would find exactly the same criticism of Phil Parkinson in his first season that Hopkin is getting now. Remember the Plonkinson jibes, the comments on hoofball and the clown having no plan B. Always remember a year later a poster called Clayton restored the posts after we had got to a league cup final and won promotion at Wembley. Hasty knee jerk reaction will not help City stay up, Hopkin may turn out to be no good or he may be successful but to judge him fairly he needs a summer to build his side when players are more readily available than in January.

Whilst I agree Evans is a horrible man and I wouldn’t want him at the club, his track record is up there with the best of them. As for saying he gets success from spending, not actually true. Spent nothing at Crawley and had success. Spent very little at Rotherham and guided them into the Championship from being in L2. Don’t confuse signing lots of players and moulding his squads with spending shed loads of money.

Other than that, spot on. I wouldn’t want him anywhere near the club

All when and good but when you see someone doing the same thing (wrong) time and time again, why would you want to persevere? Yes he needs his own squad of players and won’t get that chance until AT LEAST this summer, but equally continuing to play tactics he hasn’t a squad for does not help.

We were garbage last week for the whole 90mins and he refused to change it. And again yesterday we played similarly for the 1st 45mins. Amazing (and not a surprise to fans), we played much better in the second half when we tried to play football.

That’s why fans are starting to call for his head. If a player makes the same mistake every week, you’d want them out of the team and not given another season. How is it any different for a coach?

Wrong on Evans, his spend with Crawley is notorious.

They bought their way out of non league.

I think bringing Hopkin in during the closed season once (Simon Grayson was not taking the job) with the players he wanted to bring in could have seen us in a far better position, but unfortunatly the situation change dramatically when Rahic realised he could have far more input with a yes man (Micheal Collins) at the helm than he could ever hope to have with a tried and tested manager with experiance.

    Whilst you are correct that they spent a fortune in his 4th season and thus ‘buying their way out of non-league’, his net spend after his 5yrs in charge was actually -£35k (earning Crawley a promotion and a small profit);

    07/08 - spent £0 - received £30k
    08/09 - spent £15k - received £120k
    09/10 - spent £0 - received £0
    10/11 - spent £910k - received £75k
    11/12 - spent £245k - received £980k

That's good, but Evans still only succeeded with big money behind him.

There are also articles questioning where the money for those players came from.

Its all very shady, much like at Boston.

I would no confidence Evans would succeed without big money - and even with big money if Peterborough is anything to go by. I'm not sure he's ever succeeded on a truly level playing field; of course Evans does his very best to avoid level playing fields.

When will some City fans learn patience?

Parky was one of our most successful managers and it’s no surprise to see he was given time to run and build the club how he saw fit.

The country is littered with clubs who’ve failed because they constantly chop and change managers. Each new manager brings his own methods, ripping up the previous blueprint and starting again, then fans become impatient because they want instant success.

Many of this squad won’t be here in the summer, Hopkin’s recruitment has just about been more good than bad. Give him time to sort the club out and put it back on a stable footing, then, once we have that, we can really judge whether he has the skills to take us forward.

Every change of manager since McCall has set us back 6 months, that’s why we’re skirting with relegation (not dismissing Edins contribution).

As for Flynn, he wouldn’t be given the time to turn this ship around. I’ve a feeling, just like Eddie Howe at Bournemouth, some clubs are just a good fit for some managers.

And when sack him after a few months without any realistic transfer fund, who should we get in then?
