Best of luck to him, he deserves it having been shabbily treated by the club last time. He has lost weight and looks in good health.:)

Shhhh... You're not helping stoke the flames of the conspiracy!

He's been lined up for weeks.... Gave his blessing on Novak, knew the Rangers lad, even the keeper from Portsmouth was on his Christmas card list! He practically never left two years back! Slippers were still under his desk!

Having thought about Stuart's return during the day it struck me that this is his big chance to show us what he can really do for Bradford City. He's had all the experience he could want, right up to international level, he's not a greenhorn like the first time, nor working under impossible conditions like the second. He's got a decent set of players for this level, he can move a lot of them on in the summer if he wants and he'll have a good budget for next season. It's now or never, Stuart lad, so give it your all. He'll certainly bring about a different atmosphere on Saturday but I hope he understands that football matches are not won on passion alone. And I hope, if and when it comes, that he has the courage and bravery to go on the front foot and let the opposition worry about us. I'm only just getting over that Wembley team selection.
I still have a lot of doubts about his tactical awareness, and if he says 'I thought we were terrific' in a post match interview when we've just got stuffed I'll know he's lost it again, but I really hope he can get it right this time. All the best, Stuart. Here we go again.

It is but I think the club are just taking advantage of a positive situation to try and get as many people back into the ground as possible. They are in a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation - some will think it's too much whatever they do but if they weren't doing it, others would complain they aren't doing enough. If you think this is too much though, be thankful Mason isn't still here, he'd be all over this like a rash.

There are blueprints out there for how different clubs achieve success. We have a new manager here now with a different approach but what long term approach could Bradford take? We clearly don't have one, to be fair i can't remember us having one, basically Parkinson and his successful period has kept this club afloat. Our get of jail free card this time has come courtesy of Swanseas long term vision developing young players in the first team in the form of Oli McBurnie. One thing is certain, for any long term plan to work in any form it needs investment.

I've been critical of the appointment of Stuart by the club but I saw him yesterday at Woodhouse getting interview by Tim Thornton and I must admit it brought a smile back to my miserable face. Tomorrow will be bouncing again.

    Ginger wigs at the ready.

    Very happy, given the circumstances.

Yes the timing is ludicrous with Vaughan gone, etc, but he ho.

Disappointed with the amount of negativity, given the sh!te we've suffered this season.

Novak started 29 of McCall's 34 league games in charge, only 2 players played more under him. 9 goals in those 29 starts, think he's going to be delighted

Wouldnt have been my first choice but I'm ok with this. Should never have been sacked second time around. I just hope he's backed properly and I hope that if he doesnt get us into the playoffs, he isnt judged fully until next season.

Let's see how quickly he can get us playing some football.

I'm a bit more excited about the rest of the season now to be honest.

I'm a lot more excited for the 2023/24 season though when Stuart comes back once again. That time he'll completely nail it.

We need more quality in midfield. A couple of options from the free agent market:

Probably out of our range but Tom Carroll was released by Swansea last week. Still has no club.

Carl McHugh was converted to a defensive midfielder during his time in scotland. Went to play in the Indian Premier League last summer but was released end of December. Still has no club. No idea whether he's back in the UK but could be a good short term option.

I agree, but I think our lack of planning is purely down to short terminism. Stefan wants out as soon as possible, Julian is only temp and can’t seem to find a CEO that would be good for the club. This leaves the club in a predicament. However, if Stuart can galvanise the squad and get us into league 1 either this season or the next things might change in terms of we might be able to attract an owner who is willing to take us to the next level.

Were you happy with Bowyer and the way the club were going with him as manager, I'm not sure how you interpret that into the owner taking the piss, maybe they should have done it before the transfer window and given the new man the January window, but with regards Stuart coming back I personally can't think of a better short term fix to try and get us back into a play off place at least.

Like others, I found his interview a breath of fresh air. It’s been hard a watch this season.
I think the appointment is short term planning but right for this time. When we appointed him last time, he himself acknowledged and thanked Parky for leaving him such good professionals. Not got them this time so he will have to find some. A more difficult task this time and I hope it goes well for him. My spirits have soared and the team spirit will as well. After Rahic, he deserves this chance.
