No one absolutely no one cares more about the club and us than Stuart. And this time we should take care of our Ginger General and appreciate we have him with us again. I attended A Night With Stuart McCall at the Firepit in Bingley about three months ago. Stuart was as engaging as ever full of anecdotes and tales of his time in the game. I stood there thinking "if only he could return". He was asked but he roundly told us to back the current manager; back the players, back the club. He was with us nigh on three hours Springsteen would have been proud !

I posted on here some weeks ago how we should change and bring Stuart back. It met with enthusiasm mostly but with some less so. But for once I am going to thank Julian Rhodes & Herr Rupp for some long overdue football and business common sense.

Saturday cannot come soon enough ! I wont get carried away because I do feel that the decision is a month too late. But we are where we are. Stuart & Kenny Brown will try to hone a workable unit out of Boreyers misfiring misfits. They wont lack direction and some belief. Time will tell.

But today is to celebrate Stuarts return and the return of Bantam progressivism. We got Our City back !

It's easy to assume that going back to Stuart is largely about sentimentality. I have that nagging doubt myself. But I thought he did a very good job second time round. We came very, very close to promotion. And he did it on reasonably modest budget and in the face of ridiculous interference. In his second season, all things considered he had us performing above ourselves. I dont see how any manager could have achieved much with the way Rahic went about things.

So I actually think hes talented as a coach. And sometimes it's just the right fit, whether that be as player or manager. You connect with a club and its supporters and if you can infuse the squad with that bond, it can take you very far.

I'm eager to see what he can achieve if left to do things his way. And hopefully he's properly backed to build a team. I certainly like the way he tries to play. In particular I'd like to see what he can to do the likes of Reeves, Cooke, even Akpan.

Success under Stuart would mean more than under any manager. The 18 month deal makes sense in a lot of ways, but he needs to be backed properly in the summer. My biggest worry remains that we appear to have no long term plan to grow the club. But we have at least acted to remove Bowyer and bring in someone that I'd trust to get more out of this group of players.

Like others, I found his interview a breath of fresh air. It’s been hard a watch this season.
I think the appointment is short term planning but right for this time. When we appointed him last time, he himself acknowledged and thanked Parky for leaving him such good professionals. Not got them this time so he will have to find some. A more difficult task this time and I hope it goes well for him. My spirits have soared and the team spirit will as well. After Rahic, he deserves this chance.

Kenny Brown, hmm :p Also noticed that tweet has been viewed 12600 times, very popular.

Now, a measure of the man's class. Shabbily treated on previous spell, Herr Rupp still here, Stuart comes back. No hesitation. Also kudos to Rupp for being smart/big enough to offer Stuart the chance to come back.

AOC played just in front of the CBs for Aberdeen when they played against the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Hibs and Hearts. So he's got experience there plus he did it for us a couple of times last season.

It’s all going a bit much for me now. Scarf parade, framed pictures in reception, golden statue in the car park.
Love the guy as a player, but as a manager I’m looking for results. This is exactly what I was fearing, the guy is being idolised like he can do no wrong...but what if he does?

Not a gripe as such. Just feel it’s gone a bit cringeworthy. McCall himself in the interview said it’s not about him, it’s about the performance on the pitch and getting results. The club should act the same - recognition that the great man has come back, but letting him and the team get on with things.

Surely that's a good thing? My point is not everyone is as hardcore as folk on here and if this all helps bring a bit of a buzz back then it's a job well done.

It is but I think the club are just taking advantage of a positive situation to try and get as many people back into the ground as possible. They are in a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation - some will think it's too much whatever they do but if they weren't doing it, others would complain they aren't doing enough. If you think this is too much though, be thankful Mason isn't still here, he'd be all over this like a rash.
