I hadn't got you pegged as being quite this negative before.
I really don't think we're missing much at all. A forward that offers something different and a right-sided defender/wing back - though honestly Tyler French is doing okay.
What else is there that we're lacking?
That squad from 2011 was lacking about six quality first team players.Wakefield Bantam, AJP, Doodle and 2 others like this. -

Actually I think so far there's an argument up front that we HAVEN'T been found wanting - Novak is already on three for the season, and is joint second top scorer (Henderson is top, he's scored two penalties!) - I would PREFER more options and different styles up front, but we DEFINITELY haven't been 'found out' yet. Missing a couple of chances isn't the same as not scoring.
Way too negative all this, mate, I think you need to look at what we have and not just what we don't.Wakefield Bantam, AJP, Allotment Bantam and 2 others like this. -

@Fordy117 @Feats Don't Fail Me Now
I think you both need to stop moaning at people and being so negative. You both seem to get really irate over this stuff ahaha.
Yeah Fordy I may say ‘Come on city’ a lot, that’s because I’m having fun buddy, can’t say the same for you and your negative bubble.
@Feats Don't Fail Me Now Avoiding relegation is good, it’s being in a relegation battle that is bad.
I really think you both need to lighten up, I have plenty of fun watching the club, even during the down periods when we struggle, the club need that positive vibe from its fan base. I just don’t think sacking managers is a long term solution, Stuart McCall is City through and through, I can’t same the same for both of you when you’re so fast to throw sh** at anyone with an opinion.
COME ON CIIITTYYY!!!!!! -
Quite right. And the idea that Stuart gets away with a free ride is wrong. From what I see, very few people seem to be resolutely being behind 'Stuart is the man for the job'. At best, most are behind him temporarily on the basis of recognising that change needs to start at the top, before any move to change the manager.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Who else do you think in their right mind would take the managers role, the whole club is toxic, it will ruin even the best young managers career, we’ve tried everything in search of the perfect manager,
Shall we go young hungry coach with loads of modern ideas.....
Collins didn’t work
Drury didn’t work
Oh ok let’s go with a tried and tested manager with experience of playing in a higher league
Grayson
Perhaps a really successful coach on the way up who’s cut his teeth north of the border
Hopkin
Ok none of the above, let’s go with someone who would run through walls for the club, a local hero who can bring the whole fan base together
McCall
Jackson
Abbott
Is no one else noticing a pattern?
Until we have root and branch change at the club from top down, Nothing will change and managers will be set up to fail. -

Until we get the CEO issue sorted I think the manager is the least of our issues. The club has no direction & seems lost under the current setup. The managerial merry go round we’ve seen here either points to very poor choices of managers or bigger problems above. Can’t see many managers succeeding in this environment.
Get an experienced CEO in to sort this mess out and let them make that call & get us moving forward. My concern is that we get this choice right, the manager can be, and should be, worried about after that. Fail & go for the cheap, easy choice (eg Sparks) and I really do fear for us long term.Inspector, Storck, bantam2708 and 2 others like this. -
Once it went tits up with Rahic the only person Rupp knew who he could turn to was Rhodes and, in turn, the only manager Rhodes knew who he could turn to was McCall.
I just hope any new CEO has no links or emotional attachment to City and can operate accordingly, because we seem incapable of moving forward as a club.Inspector, bantamdave41, Bigrod and 2 others like this. -
On a positive note I dread to think where we would ld be if he had a squad he wasn't happy with...

does anybody listen to the 'The Hard Truth' podcast with Darragh MacAnthony and City fan Phil Ideson (be interesting to know if he posts on here) but in the one I listened to today he mentions a skype call with his manager in the summer - even though they finished last season without promotion and outside the play-offs, they were discussing aims for this season. he said he told the manager he wanted the league title and football league trophy this season because "if you're not going to aim to be the best then what's the point? don't settle for mediocre."
instantly thought of McCall's "we're never going to be top three" from last week. if that's the managers attitude then why are we bothering..Andy10, Inspector, Bantam-in-Greece and 2 others like this.
