Loyalty Points & Priority for Away Matches

problem with that is that it becomes a closed shop blocking out any new or younger fans.

 

I presume it will be Priority cards with 800 points (example), get 48 hours to purchase, then Priority cards with 650 points (example) get 48 hours, then all priority card holders get 48 hours etc.

As I say, all speculation until it's announced.

 

Agreed. That's how a lot of the bigger clubs are run. Waiting lists for season tickets and no chance of away tickets.
My mate's a Spurs fan. Can't get a ticket for the new stadium for love nor money. He's not enough points.

Season tickets at Anfield are passed down through the family as the waiting list is so long.

I can also see that you need to reward fans for long term support. Many long standing supporters didn't get a ticket for Chelsea and felt aggrieved.

 

Travelling away next season is going to be very expensive-fuel costs at an all time high meaning even coach travel will be much more than last season. Can't see the same clamour for away tickets unless we are performing well on the pitch.

My mate is a spurs fan and had been on the waiting list before the move and got a season ticket then. She hardly goes and resells the ticket most games without an issue

Exactly. Trains on strike and no-one can afford to fill their cars up. The loyalty scheme will be a fairly meaningless. Useful in the regular uber fans debate though.

It will make it interesting for next season though...I attended quite a few away games on my own as my two lads lost a bit of interest so they don't have anywhere as many as me so whether I will just be able to get a single ticket for me or be allowed to buy additional ones for family?

defeats the point of points if you can buy extras

 

To be honest, the club running a priority away ticket system could have control of ‘sensible’ away supporters. They have their details, any issues they know who to talk to.

moving more into a random market where supporters can acquire tickets and maybe sell them on. The control is lost.

If you travel away often you see the same faces many families etc.

Our away supporters represent the club, now this is going to be more of a free for all could be interesting, we will have to wait and see

 

How is it going to be a free for all when the tickets will go on sale to those with most points first, so club will still have their details just like before

 

Can’t remember how many I missed. We changed seats towards the end of the season. We had our tickets scanned at the door. We had 5 tickets for home games.

 

Well I fly in to Yeadon on Friday day before Stockport at home (brings back memories- didn’t our keeper Ramsbottom score in one at VP?), leave morning after Salford away. If we are top of the leagues, I reckon my chances of a ticket will be less than zero. But fair’s fair, tickets need to go to the regulars. Get your points built up !

 

Can some add a poll to see what points people have?

 

It’s an easy concept. The more points you have the higher up the pecking order you are. There will be no priority away card and rightly so.
If the club back track on that I’ll be furious and complain that the acquisition of loyalty points last season was in fact mis selling.

I’ll be surprised if there’s any gullible people out there who’d buy a priority card when it’s unlikely it will be of any use due to large number of points fans have accrued.
They’d only be be useful for a cup game with over 3000 available tickets.
