I think he used that word afterwords specifically because he'd used it beforehand and was therefore picked up on it.

 

I'm not sure they did. Did Parky ever lose to a team from a lower division in the League or FA Cup?

I don't think anyone is happy with last night, but the key point of @Norman Corner's post is that many seemed to be sharpening the pitchforks in preparation for a result like this. We haven't won in the League Cup for four years.

Collins' comments were cringeworthy before the match and are humiliating now. But calling for him to be sacked after three games (a decent win away, a tough home loss to one of the best sides in the league and the now annual League Cup first round elimination) is simply, as @AJP put it, an epic over reaction.

That's not to say I'm confident Collins will be a success. There are elements of his tactics I'm already frustrated with. But lets see how he reacts to it rather than calling for his and everyone's head after each poor result.

Exactly. And it's why we need another striker who can finish. We can't solely rely on Doyle all season

And relying on Wyke all of last season is a reason we struggled. The same will happen again without another quality forward signed.
