Lee Angol signs

Agree with all of this Fordy. I'd be interested to know if this is an Adams-inspired signing or one from Turnbull, too.

 

Had to check the calendar to see if it was April 1st. It just shows - despite all the talk - nothing really changes.

I console myself that we've at least got some quality seats in the dugout, and the pies might be tastier.

 

Look at josh Morris with us. Could hardly get game time then went to scunny and boom goals galore from midfield.

 

However, he was a good signing for Scunny because he only played 13 games for us and scored 1.

If you look at his stats before at Fleetwood he played 14(loan) scored 2 then played 45 scored 8.

So we got what we deserved because barring Blackburn we are the biggest club he has played for and he played 20 scored 0.

He's suited to a Scunny. A club with low standards from fans.

I know the lads name and that's it. I will reserve judgement until i see him play for the club.
what i will say , i cant see Adams signing a player , that he doesn't think he can work with and improve.

As with Eisa, my daughter's chap used to play with Lee Angol in the National League South. Both were in the Boreham Wood team that won the (then) Conference South playoff final against Whitehawk in 2015. In the couple of games I saw, he looked several classes apart from everyone else playing. He was razor sharp and a clinical finisher. He was undoubtedly much too good to be stuck in non- league football
Clearly his career has been badly hampered by injury. I've no doubt that he has the ability to be an effective L2 player if he is anything like the young player I saw six years ago. Let's hope that he can now get back to full fitness and thrive under Adams who, presumably, must believe he can get a tune out of him.

Know absolutely nothing of this lad but that's a decent understanding of his background. If the so called 24 man squad is to materialise, then Adams must have faith in the lad, both from a fitness and skillset angle.

I guess from my point of view, injuries can curtail a player both ability wise and mentally. We shall see.

If it's injuries and not a lack of willingness, then the comparisons with Guthrie are very unfair. Guthrie failed every gut check he was issued in the pitch; no desire.

Just because Angol has struggled doesn't mean he lacks the tools and the mentality to succeed - however, we've been hampered by crocks recently and we don't need another ...

 

I hope he's the right Angol for us.

 

I hope after all his injuries that his reflexes are OK. He would be the complete player.
