Stockton is only good to some people of the Morecambe links. He isn't that great.

However, we can't be looking at potential now. He need proven players. Make this the last signing of its kind Adams.

It’s not the name, it’s the 11 goals in his last 63 appearances over three seasons that makes me wonder what the thinking behind this signing is. It’s got Guthrie written all over it.

Vernam can also play Central striker role.

Pretty sure people said the same about Guthrie.

Its like we really don’t want to use the loan market to a decent level.

    Do we? Really.

We all hope Adams works out for sure but trust has to be earned.

Guthrie had a much better record and turned to be utter sh*te. You don't know how any player is going to work out.

Nearly everyone wanted Derek Adams as manager then we start moaning about his signings! UNBELIEVABLE JEFF as Kammy would say.

Sparks won't be choosing the signings, I think that will be Derek's job.

A bit of that was tongue in cheek Fordy but having said that most of us wanted him as our manager so let's see how these signings work out before we start whingeing. Some players just need the right set up and manager. They all start out with potential.

Ismail was a talented skilful player but preferred the treatment room rather than the green stuff between the stands.

I wanted him because Sparks did and it was refreshing to see the club get the man they really wanted.

However, saying that he still has one aim this season AUTOMATIC promotion.

The signings have to be on point. We can’t be wasting spots.

Yes, let’s without question blindly trust Turnbull who had such a great transfer window with hits like Stevens, The Boro kid who’s name I have forgotten already he was so good and Rowe who I have had bouts of diarrhoea last longer than his time at City.

I doubt we will have a front three or even front two, more likely to be front one with three behind.

Like the Eisa signing, completely out of the blue for City fans with no rumours at all. I like the way they are doing their business.

It would appear the lad has a bit to prove but I trust Adams to get the best our of him

Fortunately you won't be coaching him Fordy, that will be up to Adams and his staff. I agree with you about Stockton, fortunately again we haven't signed him. Having said that Adams managed to get enough out of him. So I'll trust Adams with this to start with, hopefully he's got some pace in him.

Come on Fordy! You wanted us to be ambitious and go for a manager already in a job. Adams was in work, had got a good record and had just got a club promoted (against the odds and on a sh*t budget). He ticked all your boxes (and mine) so don't start back tracking and saying you wanted him because Sparks wanted him just because you don't date his signings.
If Adams can get something out of sh*te player like Stockton I'll have some trust in his judgement until those players prove otherwise.

By a couple of clubs, you mean Boreham Wood in the National League South and 1 season in League One with Peterborough? Boreham Wood means nothing, it's a couple of steps below your level and the thing with his Peterborough record is while it was good he had a bad injury and his record has been poor since. Bad injuries can seriously impact players, it can take that very thing that made them good away, look at Micheal Owen at Man Utd. He was still deadly when given a chance but he didn't get those chances as often because injuries removed the very attributes that helped him get those chances.

If you were signing him at the end of 15/16 there would be reasons to be excited but he just strikes me as one of these promising players who get an injury and it means they will never be better than non-league quality

    I do understand your point.

My thinking behind trusting Turnbull to identify players is that his job is to find players who will improve us as a team. Granted some of the signings in January were not up to scratch however now he has had more than enough time to draw up a more detailed and thought out list of players.

If the signings this summer turn out to not have the desired impact on the team (guiding us to promotion) then Turnbull has to go. Until then it’s his job as Recruitment Director to identify players and sign them or recommend we sign them and I think we should trust him to do that.

Let's hope he is just a back up, other wise it's a poor signing, his record is poor in resent years.
