Good read. The guy has a hell of a lot of character and mental strength to get back playing after such a big operation.

Excited to see him in a city player - hope that comment of “lots of long balls etc etc…” doesn’t come to haunt him!

 

I wonder if we were planning on signing both Williams and McDonald and using them interchangeably, given neither of them is able to manage a full 90 minutes.

 

I doubt that because Kevin M is the ball winner with height and strength. The little chap was the exact opposite but with pace I suppose?

 

Somebody who can deliver a corner would be my starting point

 

Pleased with this signing if he can have the same impact as Gary Jones who was deemed too old and past his best we will be much stronger.

we missed a clever footballing brain at times last year Derbyshire showed some of that at times and deffo in the 2nd leg where that extra bit of know how got us a goal.

I think people might be surprised by this one but I think he will be a real asset.

I thought it was just some spare goalkeepers jersey,seeing as they can't show them in the new kit.

 

Great pedigree, not a great age. Similar profile to Clayton. Might be just the conductor we need, or maybe his legs have gone. Who knows. Will have to reserve judgement.

Exeter fans seem disappointed he's gone, which is a good sign - 'too good for league 2' apparently. Seems the lure of a 2 year deal did it.

I don’t think Hughes is planning on building a squad over the next few seasons, I think we will see some signing with energy to compliment him but if we can squeeze a good season out of him it could be a shrewd signing

 

why can’t they show them in the kit though

 

Add more pace. We don't have any pace at moment anywhere.

Looking pretty nailed on a midfield two of Smallwood and MacDonald. Plenty of experience at a higher level, remains to be seen if they actually complement each other.

 

Tbf, if we're playing a 4232 again, the deep midfield 2 don't need to be mobile as such, they just need to be able to move the ball more quickly between back and front. The energy can come from the front 4 and full backs
