I can’t remember the last time we played any killer passes. Not last season, not for many a season. Hope this lad can provide. If he can, we’ll need some pace up front too.

Hopefully this signing signals the end of the non productive AG.

Id keep him as a squad player. Good option to bring off the bench who can provide energy an close a game out

The person behind the insiderbantamHQ account is the same person that posted as Helsinkibantam a couple of years back and also got a few predictions right. I don't think they are anything to do with City Vent.

Ok Tnx, however as an outsider looking in that person needs to start doing the lottery!

Who , honestly who , would link Ash Taylor as a signing prediction?

Yes I'd like a couple of pacey wide players to play either side of Jamie Walker (or whoever plays in that role) and maybe another striker but with pace to compliment Cooky. Not too bothered about McDonald's age, provided he is fit and passed his medical. Our immediate aim is to get promoted so we only need to think short term at the moment . The guy has got a very good CV plus at 6'4" he also has a physical presence which we will need in CM. I agree that pace is a good asset to have in your side but probably more important is having players who have craft, a physical presence and can read a game.

Agreed. We still need more mobility in there but it does solve the need for height and presence. It also, hopefully solves the need to move the ball intelligently and at pace.

Agree and I hope we'll bring in another centre midfielder in at least. We can't be having the same central midfielders playing 50 games again next season. It was clear we needed to freshen things up at times but lacked options.

Yes it would be interesting playing without a keeper.

It would seem to me the idea was to get Williams and McDonald in for midfield next year... feels pretty ambitious to me and I hope the next on the list after Williams is of similar style and quality. Most important now though is firepower on the wings, 3 / 4 pacey powerful wide forward / wingers needed.

Yes we do need pace but more than that we still need the quality Sparks promised, we still look distinctly average in certain areas.
We brought in some players with pace last season but they were so crap tgey barely ever made the team!

Its quality now that matters, and hopefully the quality will include pace

    That's my thought.

Playing in the wingers, and obviously Andy Cook.

We need some good athletes with good brains out wide, maybe someone like Harry Chapman will really shine with a player like McDonald in the team.

If Harry can improve his end product, we'll have some player. We started to see glimpses of his ability before he was struck down with injury. Hopefully having a year under his belt will make him feel relaxed in his surroundings. Add to that, Hughes playing him consistently in his best position, then finally we'll have the pace and quality we so badly lacked last season, down one side at least.
