Actual 'Bullying' is a bad idea as a leadership tactic. Not only is it unreasonable, it'll erode your credibility and trust with others. You should always treat people fairly - but that doesn't mean you cant be firm. Telling a player he has no future with you and making him train away from the group who do isnt bullying.

I would have suggest anyone like Riley who was possibly picked up at United at a very early age does see our club as a Mickey Mouse club, I remember Lee Sharpe refering to Bradford City who were in the Premiership at the time as a dog & duck club, heres Lee's quote "Of all places, I ended up at Bradford. We even called ourselves 'the dog and duck.' We were honestly like a pub team".
It's possible that coming to Valley Parade has made him stand on his own two feet, and maybe made him a little insecure hence his comments with regards his £5k a week and his super duper car, mind you we have a poster on here goes on about his Merc ;).

I think the 'joke of a club' comment was attributed to O'Connor after armbandgate. A couple of supporters spoke to him about the incident after the game and he allegedly said it then.

I've posted this before but its another example of your post @Interested Bystander@Interested Bystander, at the Wolves game that gained us promotion there was a famiy of 4 sat directly behind us who spoke with a very broad Brummy accent.
At half time I asked ( being a nosey bugger) what 4 Briummies were doing following Bradford City, the dad said my lad plays for you, I asked who and he replied Lee Sharp, he was not a starter that day but was brought on towards the end.
I said I hoped if he came on he would perform better than his last few games and he actually agreed and said he can play better but was asked to play in the system Paul Jewell wanted.
We saw him several times on our travels and never did he big his lad up, he came across as a nice genuine football fan.

They were both in quite different situations, Hopkin was brought in to stop our disastrous performances and steady the ship and hopefully save our season and save Rahics neck.
Were as Bowyer was brought in with 11 games left in the hope of turning our form around and keeping us up, but also with an eye on the coming season if he could not turn the football side of the club around.

Agree we spoke about the Shrewsbury game and how we could have easily lost that day, and the debarcle at Fleetwood suggested to most fans he was not up to what was required, that game being a perfect example, given 2 life lines one a pen that got us back into a very one sided game at the time and then getting a man sent off, yet we launched the ball long every time we got it rather than making Fleetwood work to win it back with them down to 10 men.

yes and compared to someone like me fordy you'd be really old and fugly

How you can agree with Wright's dad given he thinks his son would have been the difference between us staying up n going down. If he was that effing good he wouldnt have been bombed out the team in the first place. How can you claim to have any ambition or even want the best for the club when you side with the parents of players who aren't good enough for us and have the complete wrong attitude. If you want us to improve, show a bit more ambition than defending Josh Wright.

Wright was a nothing player really sideways passing not getting in the opponents half. However I do think the criticism he received was over the top probably more to do with other things going at the time.

I hope he's saving £4.5k a week out of it, because he's unlikely to be earning that much again unless there's an enormous upturn in his performances. I'm all for giving promising youngsters a chance to prove themselves in professional lower league football. But if the only reason he came here was because we were offering silly money compared to the other interested clubs, then you have to question his motivation for joining the club in the first place.

It's ridiculously ironic that the person who held the purse strings was a massive advocate of performance related salaries. Riley was one player who this should have applied to. As there was zero evidence (1 appearance as a sub for Sheff Utd on loan I believe) that he could make the grade in the cut and thrust of League One.

I agree and disagree with many fellow posters on here with regards their views on Bradford City and football in general why would you be any different, I just don't agree with your politics, as it is a message board to express our opinions I will reply to who I want if you feel so intimidated by my reply by all means put me on "ignore".

Wright was a complete non-entity. Not the only one, but definitely the poster boy how ineffectual that squad turned out to be. If he didn't get on with Hopkin or felt he was unfairly treated, fair enough. Doesn't excuse his complete no show for an entire season does it?
