Josh Wright's dad on Hopkin..

Well before we get the pitch forks out, what evidence rumour or otherwise is there to suggest he was bullying the players?

 

Said before alienating a good chunk of the squad was poor when we needed all hands on deck last season.

Did same with Riley too

 

It wasn't the right thing to do given he was unable to move any of the alienated players on.

But I don't really have any sympathy for the shitty attitude brigade, frankly. Jordan Gibson and Josh Wright, good riddance to bad rubbish.

 

If the players that Hopkin allegedly alienated (ie Wright, Gibson, Riley) turned out to be half decent after he left I'd take their point.
The fact that both Hopkin and bowyer do t appear to rate any of them make me think that the issue is the players, not the management

I think it’s pretty obvious that Hopkin walked into a club where the players were taking the piss and decided to stamp his authority immediately. I’ve heard a couple of stories of players standing up to Collins during training sessions and negatively influencing others. Collins had zero control or respect from the players which Hopkin had to address immediately. I know that Hopkin took an instant dislike to one player in particular who was more interested in his nice car and boasting of his lifestyle than playing for BCFC.

It was telling though that after Walsall, when things were said / done in the changing room and team bus after the game Hopkin walked away. The same player power / attitude that he was brought in to tackle drove him away

 

Who was the other whose Dad supposedly turned up at training or summat?

Perhaps we should interview players' parents to see if they're stable or not.

 

Just been over to have a look at the tweets. Doesn’t make very good reading. Josh’s father is suggesting if he hadn’t been banished for 4 months we would have stayed up. Well he is his father and will support his son no matter what, but I didn’t see any significant improvement once Hopkin had left. The tweets from both Gibson’s and Wright’s father sound like they were held in a prison camp or equivalent.

 

Do we get to know who that is?

 

The lifestyle one is Riley isn’t it?

 

I wonder if the player mentioned was the one who allegedly told Bowyer in his one to one that it was irrelevant if he played or not as he “earns 5 grand a week regardless of whether I play or not” or words to that effect. Same player also thinks it’s a joke of a club.

 

Not difficult to work out, but it is unwise these days to name names. Let’s put it this way, said player is disliked immensely by majority of last seasons squad who weren’t shy when it came to slagging him off

 

Love is blind and deaf. Hopkin may or may not have been a tw@t, don’t know, don’t care. But I’ve seen their boys play, we wouldn’t have stayed up and they’re both rubbish tbh. Tbf to Gibson I won’t be to harsh, the lad tried, well on the pitch anyway.

 

Hahaha I've just read the series of tweets from Wrights dad and Jesus the bloke is a touchy sod. Rather than actually try to defend his sons attitude and ability he resorts to playground insults and gifs a 5 year old would use.

 

Didn’t our Championship manager say Gibson need to show what he could do in training! Much the same as Stuart hinted at as well. So not only Hopkin, but other managers as well.

 

If ever a squad needed the law laying down to them and frankly a bit of bloody bullying it was this lot. It seems we have some incredibly egotistical nobheads 'playing' for us at the moment and I for one will heckle them relentlessly until they leave. They dont deserve a second chance, I dont want to give them one and evidently I dont think Bowyers wants them either. I want players who want to be here and actually have a measure of professional pride. Even when the history makers and even mccalls team didnt play well you could never accuse them of hiding or a lack of effort.

 

I noticed, I thought it was embarrassing tbh. They should keep their thoughts to themselves, and ignore. Josh Wright is no longer our player, he is now at the O’s, they should concentrate on that move.
