JCT Renew Sponsorship

I don’t think Edin will be the first or last chairman in history to have problems or “issues” with people who are sponsors or work at the club.

It’s business. People fall out. But we were told and lead to believe by so many that it was all horrible and the club had a bad name. And yet more and more sponsors sign up or re sign. Not quite adding up all these rumours are they?

I know what will come back. But you can’t prove that there wasn’t issues. I could literally make anything up and say well you don’t know it wasn’t true in the first place.

 

How certain are we about this falling out with sponsors? Does it fall in line with all the other rumours since proven to be bollox?

It wasn't a falling out as such, more a strained relationship. Probably more cultural than anything else.

 

So in this case it will be Leeds that get it.

 

Not as straightforward as that!

Some houses the Bradford side of the canal actually fall under Leeds Council!

 

Which rumours have been proven to be bollox and what exactly is it that you're regarding as "proof"?

 

There have been a lot of rumours circulating around the club over the past year or so. Some have been completely false (The Wyke bonus payment) some have been true (McCall and Rahic having and unworkable relationship, Mason's departure) and others have had an element of truth in them but have clearly been exaggerated to suit an agenda (Hendrie getting off the team bus just before the Yeovil game, but not because Rahic humiliated him). Clearly, not all rumours are bollocks and neither me or you are in a position to know which bracket this one comes under. Whilst you are convinced that Rahic hasn't had fallout with our sponsors, there are others who are and regardless of your own opinion on it, the alternative remains a distinct possibility.

 

DIdn't check the area just stated the principle. Used to work at the bakery there, always thought it came under Bradford.

 

Investment in the club, players signing for us (good players too), obviously happy with their renumeration. Need I go on?

 

You've mentioned a few opinions of posters on here. I don't actually see any actual rumours there?

 

This is a fair assessment. But considering the unbearable level of rumour since the start of the year, fans can be forgiven for taking a step back from it all and passing judgement on the hard facts presented in front of them. JCT's renewal and the uptake of "Bradford City Business Memberships" suggests sponsors are excited to be involved with Bradford City.

That might be perceived as burying ones head in the sand, but as someone not "ITK", dealing with fact is more reasonable.

 

To be honest it would make little difference as business rates are paid per site rather than where the HO is. So Morrisons would pay it for five lane ends, Thornbury etc all separately

 

If you and others want to believe that the rumours were incorrect based on the valid reasons you've stated, that is of course fair enough. I'm mainly questioning those who either believe that their opinion is fact when it isn't, completely dismiss the original rumour when it's still a possibility and somehow think that those who believe/d the original rumours now have eggs on their faces. Give your opinion but accept that it's just that. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but there are lot of posters who are very sure of their opinion based on article which proves nothing.

 

The one thing I am sure about, which was claimed, is that neither of the main shirt sponsors pulled their sponsorship for this season. If that hadn’t have been claimed at the time I could have believed that there had been a fall out etc but as that was put in with it I discounted the whole claim

 

Good news after Tordoff allegedly showed interest in buying the club back as part of a consortium of some kind.

This suggests he was not entirely happy with the direction of the club, but obviously he is happy enough to continue as main sponsor, which is great news!

 

They are sponsoring Bradford City not Edin though. They aren't going to cut their noses off.

If you asked them would then prefer dealing with someone other than Edin than the answer would be a resounding yes.

That's not because he drives a hard bargain, it's because he's difficult.

It is possible to be a City fan but not an Edin fan. A point which some fans on here seem unable to get their heads around.

 

I would also consider the rate of this agreed sponsorship.

The season has started; aren't deals like this normally concluded in pre season?

Is the delay down to the car accident?

Or is this actually just par for the course?

It FEELS late.

 

And you know all this because.

 

I might be totally wrong but the fact that new shirts have been on sale a few weeks with the JCT logo on suggests the deal for THIS year was concluded sometime ago. The words 'extended it's significant suppport' are used in the article on the official site which could possibly mean sponsorship has been agreed beyond this season?
