Cummon Bronco, you know better than that. They had had a bust up long before that single was released.

If ROD had been in met when we conceded that first goal he'd have been blame for it by the same few on here.

He's been blamed for every similar goal all season yet somehow, when Hornby concedes one it's the defenders fault?

Think you'll find that was just Paul Simon with Chevy Chase in the video. A long way past the point where Simon & garfunkel had fallen out.

Wonder if Kyel Letheren will join up with Adams for a third time, now Morecambe have just signed Trevor Carson on loan from Dundee United. Could solve th goalkeeper problem.

So far he should have been sent off, flapped at crosses, cost us a goal against Sutton, failed to command his area from more crosses, but the usual suspects haven't been giving him grief for any of them for the simple reason that he's not Richard O'Donnell.

ROD is a clear example of an average League Two player being made out to be abysmal just because he's been here for three years, and therefore we can see his weaknesses.

Hornby, meanwhile, gets off the hook simply because he's less well known.

Sounds like Letheren wants out, I said similar a few weeks ago after he was dropped again. Would be the third time DA has signed him. Not had a proper run in the side but even when he's played he's been conceding alot in L1.

Think it's fairly obvious there's not a lot of trust in ROD or Hornby, who are two very average L2 keepers on their best days. Probably want one of those out before another in I'd imagine?

A good keeper saves you points. Our keepers are the opposite. ROD has been here 3 seasons and made some good saves but overall doesn’t command his box and is quick to blame others when he on occasions is at fault. His time is up for me. He isn’t a Keeper I trust at this or more importantly at league 1 level.

He's far too expensive to be a bench player. If Adams is bringing someone else in, Hornby is a cheaper and ok back up. Reinvest the wage in a new keeper and maybe elsewhere in the squad.

A solid, reliable gk could feasibly prevent three wins slipping into draws I reckon….its an area we have to address as that could be the difference between playoffs and 10th.

if morecambe are loaning a new GK that sounds promising for us. This lad mentioned above can’t be on too much there? Cover his wages….boom….cause for optimism instead of nervousness between the sticks.

Sounds like Morecambe brought in Carson to compete with Letheren, not replace him.

    https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/dundee-united/2883735/trevor-carson-dundee-united-morecambe-loan/

Usually there would be a hint that Letheren could depart on loan or something, but it sounds very much like they desperately wanted two experienced keepers at the club.

Can't see Kyle leaving, and to be honest, I don't see him losing his place either.

Bit like when we brought that lad in from Pompey the other season, Luke McGee.

Agree with many above we definitely require better keepers without doubt. The problem with this I see is if this was to happen in place of a 1st team ready/quality outfield player??? If the answer is yes then I say stick with the keepers we got.
In other words not happy with our keepers but think our team has more urgent areas to address.

Don't think it's the best of research gone into this one by the journo. Makes out Letheren has been the Morecambe first choice GK all season when in reality he's played 11 (conceded 25) of their 24 games in L1, 5 starts since mid October.

They have another GK who has been playing more, Andresson, a young keeper on loan from Reading. They won't need 3 keepers, especially two loanees so if this kids loan ends I'd say Letheren stays but at 34 I'd imagine he'd want to go play rather than be 2nd/3rd choice.

All true but I think Letheren had a shoulder injury, and the young loanee has been a bit shaky. He was blamed for a couple of goals and defeats.

    Optimism you say???

How many clubs in recent years. 157 games in 11 seasons( assuming stats detailed are correct).
48 goals conceeded last season at non league Chesterfield and promoted Morecambe. Bradford City conceeded last season 53.

I know its a crude comparison but the basic underlying facts and stats...

I think we're going to find out most keepers at this level and some at the one above aren't these super reliable, steady, assured pair of hands people think they should be...

And that ROD and Hornby are both par for the course, rather than way below average...

But I do think for a lot of City fans ANYTHING NEW will be better, just because our players aren't allowed weaknesses even though... you know... we're the 80th best EFL team in the whole of England...
