I agree. Which now raises the question: If AOC continues in this from until the end of the season should we offer him a new contract? Obviously it would be a reduced contract in line with current circumstances. I have my tin hat at the ready

On the subject of injuries, those countless "pulls" and "strains", suffered this season, stopped, the moment McCall left the building.

I'd heard a little whisper that one or two were viewed with suspicion. It seems disenchanted footballers are not averse to throwing the odd "sickie"!

 

He appears to me to be one of several that we have who are om when things are going well but start ducking, dodging anf finger pointing when things take a turn for the worst. We need someone more commanding.

Nah. Far too little end product. OK, he's shit off a shovel and scares defenders, but how often did that lead to goals? We need a wide player who can cross well to create chances. Novak will put them away, given the right service.
If we were going for ex players I'd far rather we'd signed Morais, who was virtually begging us to come and get him. Sadly, that ship has sailed.

I would have taken either. Or both. I think Connolly's contribution was underrated (apart obviously from that one match where he was the best player on the pitch by a million miles). For example it goes unrecorded if he chases down a defender and wins a corner and we score from the corner, or pressurises opponents into giving the ball away. Sorry.....I said I'd shut up about Connolly
