How can you be wrong on an opinion? You need to think be before you post. I just have a different opinion to Ulysses on who's the better player. Theres no wrong or right.

The fact that this conversation will be taking place on nearly every Lge 1 and Lge 2 message board shows his value as a player,

Fleetwood have said it is nothing serious more a case of minor infractions the final one seems to be he missed training but the manager felt he had to act,

I wouldn't exactly call him a bad egg. He had his conviction overturned. Imagine spending 2 years locked up for a crime you didn't do. Not really going to do your mental health much good, so of course he's got baggage - but I wouldn't say its through a fault of his own. Not sure Joey Barton was going to be the person who mentally rehabilitated him either. But looking at his goal scoring record since he's been out of jail, he's obviously knuckled down and tried to rebuild his career.
I'd say he needs to get his head back into gear, before looking for another club.

And of course he's better than Novak. He's played in the Prem. He's played international football. He's scored just 30 goals less than Novak, despite him being out of the game for three years.

    Ched Evans sweepstakes sounds fun.

Which overly ambitious (desperate) club moves for him? I'm going for....

    Gillingham!!

Funny you should say that Jon, that was my thought exactly when catching up on this thread. I'd have thought Ched would be right up his name sakes Street!

For Joey Barton to sack him for behavioural issues, there must be something really serious going on. Not least the fact that the PFA will step in. Christ, they stepped in when we sacked Richard Liburd and he went down for abusing his mother in law.

Yet it took us months to get Robinson off our payroll. Personally, I think Barton is a hot headed character, and is just trying to deflect his personality onto someone else. I don’t think it takes much to flip out Barton.

Sadly we thought the same when we had Doyle & Vaughan.

Knowing how the PFA get involved with these things, I seriously doubt what they are saying there. I'd go as far as saying it's a complete smokescreen. Players simply don't get sacked mid contract for minor issues. They literally have to kill someone to allow the club to cancel a contract by anything other than "mutual consent"

Finding it absolutely hilarious people are having a love in for a player with a poor attitude, yet probably were the same who thought Vaughan was scummy for what he did. History repeating itself maybe? Regardless bad attitude is like a cancer for team sports and needs to be booted out much like Vaughan was.

That's exactly my point. Barton might have wanted him sacked but the people who run the club, ie the Board and Co Secretary would have told him it's not as simple as telling him to get his coat and leave the building. It takes forever to sack a player and then it goes to appeal, has the PFA all over it and the reasons have to be absolutely watertight.

There is a lot more to this than simply turning up late/ missing training even if that is on numerous occasions. It will have to constitute gross misconduct in the eyes of the club and be sanctioned by the PFA. Like I said in a previous post, we had trouble sacking Liburd and he went to prison (or at least was convicted).

Barton himself didn't get sacked when he stubbed a cigar out in a youth players face. Probably because the PFA advised that it wasn't grounds for sacking. Until whatever it is has been cleared up he won't be going anywhere, unless of course he has been paid up to his satisfaction and already has another club lined up for January.

I get your point. If more people are thinking this way, then I'd say that's it for Evans. Shame, as he's (yet another) a footballer who looked like he had a good career in the making.

Maybe Evans wanted out so he
forced the issue ? If he doesn't get
fixed up quickly maybe he's just
messed up or had enough ?

Maybe he's just very messed up, plus had enough and simply no longer good enough?

Does Hurst have any players that seem to follow him around from club to club?
If as it would appear that he is the new manager.... maybe look at some of those names.

People have selective memory, Beagrie got done for a grope and Lawrence for robbery. Both were fantastic signings and firm fans favourites.

Ched Evans was a silly boy, and he paid a big price even taking to account it was eventually overturned.

when ive seen him play he has looked quality. Better thsn Novak, easily, for what its worth.

would i want to see him here , probably not he comes with too much baggage.
