I said I wonder if he will try to claim that, I'm not suggesting that he was. It is pretty much agreed there was a fallout between him and Bowyer, and the club backed the manager's wish to send him out on loan. Whilst that arrangement suited Vaughan very well, he may try and claim he was pushed out by a manager who was then subsequently sacked. Not saying it will happen, just putting it forward as a possibility if he doesn't get his own way.

 

Well unless Tranmere are going to use a big slice of their salary cap the rumour should be over

 

If no club comes in for Vaughan, due to the salary cap, he remains at the club, by default. We've seen interviews with new signings extolling the virtues of the club. Vaughan must be aware of the conjecture surrounding him, supposedly, wanting to leave. It would have been nice to hear something from him refuting those rumours. Perhaps the silence speaks volumes.

Last time I looked, he'd deleted all mention of City from social media and "likes" news relating to a number of other clubs, including Tranmere. Strange behaviour from a highly paid, senior pro, who started last season as captain. Or, maybe not strange when you look at the long list of clubs on his cv.

If, because of financial circumstances, we're stuck with Vaughan, and he's stuck with us, then, regardless of his ability, I'd suggest that's not a healthy proposition.

 

Transfer list him at a reasonable value and get on with it.

Players don't tell MacAnthony when, where and for how much they're going to move for, it's about time we stopped bowing to players here.

 

I would love you to be right mate, unfortunatly were talking football and usually footballers get their way, if he wants to play silly buggers that will not help Stuart build a good dressing room.

I agree but his salary will probably be as much as about three on salary cap wages so it would have a big impact on their Squad size unless they fill their team with youngsters

 

Take the two years left at City and extend it to 3 years that will still give him a decent living and security as he would be 35 by the time a contract at Tranmere finished.

 

By that time we'll be playing down in the scottish 3rd division....

 

I meant if Tranmere sign him on a 3 year deal covering the salary he's on at City, I dint explain it very well, one thing for sure he wont get a two year deal at any league two club that he's on at City.

 

i think the likelihood of him sulking if he stays is low under mccall, who for all his faults is a fantastic man manager. if he goes we're probably buggered unless we ignore whats happening with the salary cap and get someone good in before it kicks in. the EFL keeps dragging their heels so why should we wait if they arent being clear. However knowing us I suspect Vaughan will go and we either wont replace him or sign a guthrie clone and shout salary cap.

 

Why would James Vaughan need an extra year in his contract to earn "a good living"?

The bloke could never play again and not have to worry about pretending he needed an extra year from a middling league two team.

I think it is pretty obvious the guy is a bit of a (4 letter word).

His social media behavior is pathetic. That said if McCall can put an arm round him and get the best from him I hope he stays.

If not then maybe look to offload in January if there are any takers.

 

I would think your right with the career Vaughans had financially he should be OK, the point was with regards Teanmere matching the contract he has at City, they could offer the same finacial package over three years, he doesn't lose money, stays local and he will be 35 by the time the contract runs out

Leaves us with a problem in that his replacement will have to he paid and depending how near the ceiling we are the average salarly will hardly attract the best of strikers. Unless we can unearth a youngster or get a decent one on loan.

The salary cap is already in place. Meanwhile the PFA have said its not going ahead as they have litigating against it?! So whats happening? Nobody knows!

 

I wish I had been over his career they will both have made a good living from the game.
