Jason mckeown has started now. Has Sparks called them all before hand and asked them to put a positive spin on it?

    Yes!

Plus the contract was terminated two years early! We've saved a packet!

Plus he was a bad egg etc etc

Plus it gives us time to bring in the right person but if we choose not to we have the top goalscorer from another club last season (Guthrie) plus the Grimsby times player of the season last season (Clarke) plus the man who singlehandedly carried our strike force last season until he got injured (Donaldson)

Nothing to worry about at all! :joy::joy:

    Doing Park's job here.

Any of us on here that have had management experience knows the effect a negative person can have on the rest of the workforce.
If Vaughan was moaning around the rest of the team Stuart has made the correct decision.
I didn't see many of his games last season but I remember he spent more time complaining to referees than encouraging teammates.
Apart from his time at Bury he has hardly been a prolific goalscorer.

Ridiculous that we handed a player of his age, character and recent history a three year contract. We've struck lucky that some other mugs are willing to take him on and we're not lumbered with him sulking for two more years.

More mistakes like this in the salary cap era and we'll be hurtling towards the National League.

The distance issue is rather pathetic. As you say he has been over the M62 enough times and although Bradford is a little further than Huddersfield, then anyone with a modicum of intelligence could estimate the additional transit time.

Vaughan comes over, as someone who has a massive chip on both shoulders. The fact that he has been through 13 clubs and 18 moves suggests that he is constantly restless and is probably a disruptive individual.

I am annoyed that he didn’t leave before the transfer cap came in. I hope it was a clean cut and that it was Contract terminated, full stop, not a penny.

Rarely do I have feelings of intense dislike, but if Doyle and Vaughan return and I am at VP, then I will join in with giving them grief.

I fundamentally dislike dishonesty and those two should never have signed for City if they didn’t want to play for the club. There have been different managers, so they cannot blame them. Vaughan could have put in a transfer request, he could have gone before the the rules changed.

We got nothing from Tranmere. There was no connection to Tranmere. The relationship was between Bradford City and JV and by mutual agreement the contract was terminated. In code that means we paid him something for him to agree to end his contract early.

And he wanted out, what don't you understand he was not prepared to give the new manager a chance, only one conclusion from that scenario bye bye James, it doesn't matter how well he does at Tranmere he does not want to play for Bradford City, and my club means more to me than some journey man.
You don't like facts do you, they are all clubs he's played for in the past fact.

Never convinced Baldwin was ever coming. Another Kieffer Moore that one.
Im sure they chatted, but why would a CEO of a current Premier League club, then want to switch to be a CEO at a 4th Division club. A significant reduction in wage at the very least I would suggest.
    Never struck true tbh
Again Rhodes nevers looks too far from his phone book ie McCall et al

We should never have signed Vaughan in the first place and I'm happy he's gone. Is he a great loss to the team , not at all he would probably have had a fall out with McCall if things weren't going his way and disrupted the dressing room. He's been a bad egg at most clubs he's been at and his discipline on and off the field was there to see in the 6 months he was here.

Nahki was an example of poor transfer value management, allowing him to tell us we had to accept an offer from Huddersfield. However, the reason we babbed ourselves was because the length of his contract suggested we weren't going to get a higher offer even if we gambled on rejecting Town's advances.

This, however, is entirely different. Vaughan's contract length would not have affected his valuation, there was zero benefit to either Tranmere or Vaughan to play a long game given his age, AND the fact there was a willing suitor was clear as day.

Releasing Vaughan simply because he wanted to be released can only be regarded as an abject failure.

But you're absolutely right in that, at Bradford City specifically, players have ALL the power, and the precedent has been set so that in future, any centre forward wanting a move will simply point to Wells (if he's doing very well and wants to go somewhere else), Doyle (if he's not doing well and wants a loan elsewhere) or Vaughan (if he's a bit bored) as an example of why he doesn't have to honour his contract or stick around.

    Your options are:

    1) Don't really put a lot of effort in
    2) Complain
    3) Tell the club who you'd rather play for, and that you'd rather they let you go either on loan, on a free, or for a pittance

I mean, what can the club POSSIBLY do? : unamused:: unamused:: unamused:

We don't know if the club have paid him up, just cancelled his contract or paid him something till his new contract starts with Tranmere. I personally am not really bothered. He doesn't want to be here so at the risk of been called a "happy clapper" (not to my face I should imagine) I think the club has handled it perfectly. Let's move on to something else.

It's a poor and lame excuse. Even with the 4 hour commute (there and back), he will still be spending more time with his young family than most people working full time get to do. If he sets off at 8am for a 10am start at training, he'll be done by 2pm at the latest and home by 4pm - so even with the travel, it's a shorter working day than most have.

1,000,000 % Vaughan cares if he plays or not.

He even cares where he plays, and the style of football.

And that's the crux of the issue.

WE hold the cards because HE needs to be playing.

At no point has Vaughan given an indication he would happily sit out two years. We just didn't apply the heat, and gave up for reasons I can't fathom.

I'll repeat: our next centre forward who fancies a move will know beyond doubt he can easily engineer it no matter how badly we need them.

    We are pushovers.

Unfortunatly we have an owner who is not "ambitious" with regards his club, but to be fair to Rupp he's been as good as his word keeping the club afloat in bad times, but until Rupp sells IMO this will continue and the clubs success/failure will depend on what Stuart can get from his squad of players.
