Unless he's properly replaced then me too. Season ticket holder for over 30 years but the slow death of the club under the hands of a disinterested German is not something I'll bother wasting my time on.

Hahahahaahahahahahahahaahaha We've let our best player leave for nothing to a team in the same division who still had 2 years on his contract... You couldn't make this up. We are in a real mess right now.

Until a new CEO is offically appointed I won't believe Rhodes is leaving. Rhodes urgently needs to leave.
So with two signings in Spearing and Vaughan Tranmere have a better squad than us.
The only positive is that we have 2 months to get another forward in but if anyone thinks Novak, Donaldson, Clarke and Guthrie a good forward line up then they are firmly on drugs.Stop hovering to collapse... Stuart says he's talking to players (I imagine strikers) but he's having a hard time convincing them to drop to L2. This screams of us failing to sign said players, panicking and ending up with a Guthrie on deadline day.

Just got back in and seen the news on Vaughan and the differing reactions to him leaving - all I will say is yes it is now up to City to show their ambition and that planning has been in place for this but whatever we do Vaughan was already (and would have been increasingly more of) a negative presence in the squad and therefore HE HAD TO GO.
The club is going to be scrutinised on this happening (quite rightly) but Vaughan going was a no brainer if he was not committed. Before we hang, draw and quarter Stuart as failing to get Vaughan to buy into his plans lets see what happens next - I have a sneaking suspicion today is not going to prove to be the worst news for us as a club going forwardStoneski, Morley Bantam, Allotment Bantam and 3 others like this. -

Vaughan was under contract. Tranmere offered Payne in a swap. We said no. We probably asked for a fee. They said no. Vaughan was being a sulking Twit so we agreed to terminate his contract just to get rid.

Regardless of the best deal, yet again the person running our club wants short term profit until such a time he can cut his losses.
Make no mistake, we're league twos Charlton Athletic but unfortunately we have fans like @Park bantam instead of those that demand better.
You won't like this but the cows arse have had it spot on since the German takeover but the fingers in the ears brigade seem so far to have won the day.
I hope you are all enjoying reaping what you've sowed.
Mind you, it'll all be Geoffrey Richmonds fault anyway I suppose.vanginger, Bantamsteve, Lard Arse and 3 others like this. -
The wording on the website is very interesting and not the usual 'The contract was cancelled by mutual consent' which usually means both parties walk away from the contract with nothing. Instead it was a little more nuanced 'Bradford City has reached an agreement to terminate the contract of James Vaughan by mutual consent'. That suggests something slightly different and that we have had to agree to buy out some of Vaughan's remaining two year contract as I'd rightly expect to get him off the books.Botswana Bantam, bantam2708, Rogered Tart and 3 others like this. -

We don't want a bench warmer on 3/4/5k a week - agreed.
What we want is a transfer fee for a contracted player that is wanted by a specific club.
That's how the transfer system works, that's what it's their for.
If the player has absolutely zero value, by all means come to terms on a release, but I hadn't heard about the crippling injury Vaughan suffered that rendered him unable to play, had you?Tolly856, Aaron Baker, Old city man and 3 others like this. -
When we signed him a mate from Town told me he'd be trouble.
Yet if we did any due diligence on him , we then felt obliged to give him a 3 year contract.
He fell out with Bowyer and rightly the club either back or sack a manager.
We in typical BCFC sytle actually did bothHow, Tolly856, Tony Wilkinson and 3 others like this. -
We a 4th division club gave him 3 years and as you say after 1 game you saw the light.
Where is our scouting / due dilligence. None that's what.
Why are we giving 3 year contract out to 30 something players in the arse end of the league.
Who gave the green light for this ?
Bowyer went to someone
