All correct and I actually can't believe this is being cited as the reason he may not extend his time with us. It's absolutely ridiculous. You're talking about a 30 minute each way shorter journey time if he was to sign for Lincoln, it's not exactly a deal breaker is it? He may well be playing his football elsewhere next season, but it won't be so he can get home for his tea half an hour earlier.

He hasn't been injured for 12 months. That's definitely not a fact.

There's also no "love in". People are just happy to give him a go and see what he brings. He might improve us, he might not but he's contracted so while he here wouldn't it make sense to have a look?

If we can't be optimistic about the coming season we might as well stop watching the game, most football fans believes the coming season will see their club do well.

I don't think that's actually true. I think most of us were cautiously hopeful of promotion, or at least a playoff place, given his track record. But excited? Nah. Most of us knew of his reputation for boring, 'pragmatic' football and for turning on the players and fans when things don't go his way.
What I've seen of Sparky's style of play, his demeanour, his man management and the clarity of recruitment so far makes me far more excited than at any stage under Deadly Derek. It may all prove to be a false dawn, of course, but so far so good.

Lets be honest, we would all love to have given that goalie 'a clip' ...

Angol is horrific and offers nothing. Id be glum if that waste of space was continously picked ahead of me.

Which completely conflicts with what Hughes said when he signed.
Attack, have a go, score goals and get the fans on side.
Increasingly, in recent months, our style has been the complete opposite

Welcome to the lad and I echo sentiments about it’s much better to see this kind of signing, than a journeyman for 12 months who treats us like a retirement pot.

We haven't even finished the season, with play offs still to play and the Premier League conclusion yet to happen.

But only a Premier League goalkeeper and a League Two winner, rubbiiiiiiiiiiish!

He was rarely injured until Adams got his hands on him. The way Hughes has managed Angol and the rest of the injury prone players, without adding to their problems, gives me hope he'll do the same with Eisa. We still don't know how good Eisa is, he might be a gem or a big disappointment.

And a young kid called Chris Withe from Newcastle steady full back who also moved to City on a free transfer, Chris spent more than four years at City, missing just one game when we won the Third Division title.

You are aware that millions of kids go to University age 18, most remain there until 21 and a good portion settle elsewhere, when they graduate. He will be 21 in July, so in reality not that different.
How many young people join the Armed Forces and are posted to areas far away from home?
Sometimes living away from home is actually good!
Like many on here this sounds like a good signing. Lets hope he matures and develops into a really exciting player.

True, but take a step back and consider last summer's recruitment. Did we accept mediocrity then?
    Yes. Yes we did.

It’s not about buying into it Dave , more like thinking am I optimistic or not . If we all thought our season ahead will be dire etc etc then it will be, as sure as nights follow days. Season sales will drop, likewise the budget will drop , attendance by pay on the gate will be down . the squad suffers and hey presto we will be in serious trouble . It’s largely self fulfilling defeatism I suppose? Hard to explain but the meaning is well meant I hope?

I’m no happy clapper but share the sentiment of being optimistic every summer, it’s usually gone by November so got to have some positivity at some stage for my own sanity. As a Bradford City fan it’s the safest time to be positive, when we’re not actually playing!

I like the attitude on the pitch of Young and Hallett as well. They seem to know what it's all about more than their more experienced strike partners.

Significantly, they spent last season at promotion winning clubs.

I think these two will turn out to be very good signings

Why is this player being continuously frozen out of the team? He’s a good player and scored some great goals in the short time we’ve seen him in action. Signed from FG league two champions. I could understand Hughes arrogance if we were winning every week by two goals but we are struggling in 8th and blatantly ignoring someone who could make a difference given the chance. We signed him, he needs playing!

When I’ve seen Jake Young earlier in the season he struck me as a player who had golden moments but often went missing for large chunks of games.
He’s more of a hit and miss player, whereas it’s becoming evident Hughes prefers consistent players. Not that I agree with that approach, especially when some of those players are consistently average.
Young is a bit of a game changer which I think most of us would agree we are crying out for.
It is what it is though, Hughes clearly isn’t keen for whatever reason so makes sense for him to go out on loan. Whether we agree or not.
