Don’t mean to intentionally be contradictory, but not sure he has done enough to justify a start. The widemen are all very hit and (more often) miss.

 

I like Young. I fully accept that he is sloppy at times resulting in giving the ball away. What I don’t understand is “why. not” When your back is to the wall and you can’t score, why persist? With the same players, starters and bench? Young might score a goal and has proved he can pop up out of nowhere and score. What if he doesn’t score? Well then you are no worse off than before. I genuinely don’t understand.

 

He’s a left sided attacker so it all depends if he’s better than wright and Chapman who’s better on the left

 

True but I thought the idea of a squad as big as ours was to utilise the sub system and mix it up but that never seems to cross MH's mind ...until it's too late most times ...

I see bits of the Bowyer reign all over again. Came in with a chance to look at all the players, knows what he needed to do and get in. Start the season decently and then results and performances start to slide off and splits opinions in fans. I didn't understand the fascination with us appointing him, great players don't necessarily make good managers. There's a long way to go yet but like you I have zero belief that he can achieve the play offs.

 

So by that deduction Angol must be ripping it up in training which is a surprise because he's terrible when he's on the pitch.

 

Chapman doesn't play out wide, although he may do when Jamie Walker starts.

 

Isnt hindsight wonderful. Hughes has done well as a manager, particular at Blackburn. Hence why he’d never managed below PL level before coming here! He wasn’t a Gary Neville type.

I think he's more than just a great player at this stage of his career...

 

You are worse off than before if he frequently concedes possession and puts us in danger of conceding, as happened in a number of games. He looks great when beating his man, cutting inside and shooting, which he did early doors. Trouble is, he's really lightweight. The last few times he played for us the full back had him in his pocket, he created next to nothing and coughed up possession far too often. I'm sure that's why he's not getting in the team or on the bench.

 

Our whole team looks lightweight. I agree his game was off for the last couple, and I do expect them to get dropped if they are not performing. However, he is not making the bench now! We were told by MH the whole squad would be used, that has not happened. There are several players who fit your description of Young I have no idea what is happening behind the scenes but something isn’t right. You had Smallwood walze off down the tunnel without acknowledging the fans, who had paid to see that “performance” yesterday. My guess is he will play on Thursday, it appears to me that some players are on the team sheet no matter what!
