I wasn't aware it was possible to stream any games pre-covid, wish I had have done!

So those of us who still don't feel comfortable about being in large crowds will be penalised. I have a 92 year old father who only has one working lung, and a sister in law in remission from breast cancer. Despite really wishing I could be back at VP, especially for the first home match, there is no way that I am going to run that sort of risk. So it's back to the Dynamic Duo on Radio Leeds, and their idiosyncratic approach to the English language.

Whilst it’s no substitute for being there I follow is a great option for some people. Perhaps a different distribution of the money raised could persuade the smaller clubs to support it.

Don't think the 'smaller clubs' have the clout or the authority to have any say..

I can understand both your caution and unhappiness.

Some games will be available. Rather than try to rehash the article on the city website, this paragraph, will help to clarify what ‘May’ be available.

“Matches which take place on Bank Holiday dates during the season are also eligible to be streamed at the decision of the home club, while games taking place over international weekend dates are all to be streamed on a compulsory basis in Sky Bet League Two.

    These dates are as follows:

    - Saturday 4 September 2021

    - Saturday 9 October 2021

    - Saturday 13 November 2021

    - Sunday 26 December 2021

    - Wednesday 29 December 2021

    - Saturday 26 March 2022

    - Good Friday - 15 April 2022

    - Easter Monday - 18 April 2022”.

It is complicated and allows clubs some flexibility. https://www.bradfordcityafc.com/news/2021/august/efl-confirms-streaming-arrangements/

Suprised Harrogate is on the list as it isn’t on a bank holiday or an international day.

I listened to an interview with Ryan Sparks a month or two ago on this subject where he said clubs with less gates would be against streaming because it would affect away followings from clubs with a bigger fan base

ultimately it isn’t the EFL decision though, it is the FA taking into account those clubs who will/could lose out lower down. the EFL could decide they want to do it but without agreement from PL and FA it is still a no go.

I've seen these all singing and dancing streams in action on firestick, get the game on, then spend half of it in utter frustration as it's forever buffering and pixelating.

Thanks for this. While not alleviating my overall annoyance at the situation, it does make things a bit clearer.

The internet is now a million times better than it was then…… Mine never buffers and I have more household items , I aren’t listing, but you need four hands to count the number of fingers even my car is linked to it, so things have moved on an awful lot.

Kevin, I'm not really referring to the quality of bandwidth from your own service provider.

I speaking more of the quality of service from the dodgy server where you're getting your stream from.
Dodgy providers seem to be more interested in your cash than quality of service, therefore may have a contention ratio on their servers, whereby once there's a significant number of subscribers on it, the buffering and pixilation occurs.

It is SKY and the PL that really make the decision with the FA as regards the iFollow rules, It is crazy that it covers Div one and two who are rarely affected by the broadcast rules, Club who feel it is in their interest should be allowed to use it

Pretty clear explanation on how to watch games on Saturdays. I would recommend buying the vpn, free ones tend to "throttle" your Internet speed to make you buy the full version.

If there's a few of you who can't attend the game, an idea would be to share the vpn. You can usually use the same account on various devices, so the subscription fee becomes more manageable

It's a nonsense argument though. We wouldn't have sold less tickets for Exeter away if it had been announced the game would be on ifollow BUT, we would probably have sold a hell of a lot of ifollow passes on top of that if the option was there to do so.

23 away matches each selling say 2000 passes could have been worth going on half a million quid to the selling club...!!

Only EU nationals living in Scotland were able to vote in the 2014 referendum, Scots living outside Scotland could not vote (I only know this as my (English) girlfriend was living in Glasgow at the time and able to vote, whereas my Scottish mate living down here couldn't!) - there is actually an ongoing campaign to ensure this is rectified for any future vote.

Getting back on topic if they had voted to leave the UK then our Scottish fans could happily now be signed up to watch City on iFollow (if the Scottish groat provided them with enough spending power to afford the subscription!)
