Casual fans don't decide they want to watch City though, they watch because its the best option right then for their football fix. For example, I'm a Man Utd fan, lived in the Manchester Region from about 2 to 7 before my dad's job moved him down south. It wasn't viable for me to go and watch Man Utd play so if I wanted to watch football on a Saturday afternoon my choice was to go and watch Farnborough Town or if they were playing away hope that Aldershot Town were at home. With Farnborough being a commuter town and Aldershot being an Army town alot of my friends were in the same boat where they supported clubs that were significant distances away, I had friends who supported Forest, Newcastle, Rangers amongst others so we would go and watch Farnborough or Aldershot most Saturday. We weren't fans of the club, if we could have watched our team on TV we certainly would have, given the chance to watch a top-level game on TV we probably would have taken it as well because at that level its not even great football but it was all we had. And that's the thing with Casual fans, they aren't choosing to watch a game because they want to watch that team, they choose to watch that team because they don't have a free choice so pick the best option on a variety of factors. You throw 3PM PL games into the mix (plus you would have to allow foreign games that currently can't be shown) and you have way more factors pushing people away from going to games unless they are an actual fan

I could see a point where PL stay on 3PM blackout and maybe Championship whilst L1 and L2 can have their games on iFollow on a pay per view basis.

That way the attraction is still there for casual fans to attend as the big boys will not be available

    Good question; I don't know.

EDIT: I've just found out SPFL matches can be shown for the whole of 2021/22 season. It was apparently announced back in April.

    Interesting error in there.

Kevin, I'm not really referring to the quality of bandwidth from your own service provider.

I speaking more of the quality of service from the dodgy server where you're getting your stream from.
Dodgy providers seem to be more interested in your cash than quality of service, therefore may have a contention ratio on their servers, whereby once there's a significant number of subscribers on it, the buffering and pixilation occurs.

Pretty clear explanation on how to watch games on Saturdays. I would recommend buying the vpn, free ones tend to "throttle" your Internet speed to make you buy the full version.

If there's a few of you who can't attend the game, an idea would be to share the vpn. You can usually use the same account on various devices, so the subscription fee becomes more manageable

I would take a slightly different angle on ifollow in that it should be allowed on Saturday etc but should be priced as per the admission fee for an adult, as per the relevant club hosting the game.
Yes I accept this is potentially costly to a fan (especially those in lesser age paying categories) but you then could have multiple persons watching same game and clubs have to recoup potential losses, whilst making potential gains, especially in the lower leagues where finance seems an ongoing issue.

I used to be against the idea of ifollow on a Saturday afternoon but as @Kevin1954@Kevin1954 alludes and I'm sure many others can relate to and the fact you can watch on a dodgy firestick for a few quid benefits whom exactly?

Always be those whom take advantage. But it time to put the football consumer to the fore.

Dave I said I would pay double the price of a season ticket and I wasn’t kidding. It’s worth it! My health isn’t.

I’m lucky it’s affordable for me but others not so lucky, then put it down to money gained as little as they may charge, against money lost!

Watching on TV is a lesser experience to being there in person though so I don't think the price should be the same. Somewhere around the 13 to 15 pounds mark would be a fair price I think.
But isn't that the point the powers that be are missing? Fans that enjoy the full match day experience and away day experience aren't going to suddenly sack that off because the game is available on ifollow. There are plenty of fans however that for any number of reasons can't go to games in person, but that could and would pay to watch from home. It's extra revenue there for the taking, madness it isn't being taken advantage of imo.

I don’t see it seriously denting away following. Those who are going to Exeter this weekend are going anyway. If it’s a game I can get to I’ll go rather than watch on telly. I’m 100% certain the club would get more money out of me if they had Saturday iFollow.

Nah, I wouldn't miss a City home game to watch that.
If it was live on Sky I'd record it to watch after the City match. Otherwise I'd just have to make do with highlights on MotD.

I wouldn't care who it was that was playing, there isn't a single game I'd want to watch above watching City.

Based on the current fixture list and based on the current rules, these are City's league matches that are due to be streamed live in the UK. It should be noted that the bank holiday fixtures are shown at the discretion of the home club and , therefore the fixtures on 26 December and 15 April will depend on City agreeing (that should be a given), whilst the fixture on 18 April will be subject to the agreement of Colchester United.

Any other fixtures moved from Saturday 3pm will also be made available (unless moved for a live Sky broadcast).

    Tue 17 Aug (h) v Stevenage
    Sat 4 Sep (h) v Walsall
    Sat 9 Oct (a) v Newport County
    Tue 19 Oct (h) v Hartlepool United
    Sat 13 Nov (a) v Port Vale
    Tue 23 Nov (a) v Tranmere Rovers
    Tue 7 Dec (h) v Colchester United
    Sun 26 Dec (h) v Harrogate Town
    Wed 29 Dec (a) v Walsall
    Sat 29 Jan (h) v Crawley Town
    Tue 8 Feb (a) v Stevenage
    Tue 15 Mar (a) v Hartlepool United
    Sat 26 Mar (h) v Newport County
    Fri 15 Apr (h) v Tranmere Rovers

Yes agree wholeheartedly the EFL are a joke, and the sad part of it is they now try to force you to pay £2.50 for Audio yes it is free if you can access through an old fashioned radio and live in the proximity of West Yorkshire, but they have blocked online listening forcing those that live outside west yorks to pay £2.50 why when last season I along with thousands of other supporters helped the club out by paying for my season ticket plus never missed a match away including the Micky Mouse cup games at £10 a pop, they will not get another penny from me for the way they treat the loyal supporters.

Yes that’s a very good point, so does that mean then that you will be able to watch Salford and Forest Green for a fee who have opted out of the IFollow and if that’s the case then Bradford City and Sparks need to address this because there are a lot of BC fans that would subscribe when they can’t get a ticket to some away games with limited capacity.

There are very easy ways to continue with Saturday Ifollow games for the ones you cant attend.

I will be watching Exeter vs City tomorrow from the comfort of my sofa here in Leeds.
