It’s a farcical situation because I can see potential revenue being lost especially at these times tbh.

Take me…no chance of live football so monies lost from the game
ifollow season ticket for example (same price as a club season ticket) money goes to club.

If you want to see home and away. double it …it’s a win win for the game.

It’s not complicated and I would welcome it personally.

SKY would show any game if it made them money, It is the PL who forbid 3pm Saturday kick offs been shown to protect the main clubs who normally kick off Saturday afternoons, The EFL has its TV rights managed by the PL so have to follow their rules, It was the PL that allowed an exemption for the EFL for iFollow games to be shown in covid but have now reverted to the normal rules

I don’t see it Tony. Big clubs always without probable exception have waiting lists for season tickets.

SiL could only get his season ticket for a Prem club because his father died, so he had first dibs on his seat!! His inheritance!!! Crazy if Prem clubs think they would lose gate revenue at the expense of televised £billions income stream. They didn’t do bad due to Covid?

Your argument has already been proven by stats.

Look around the crowd figures on midweek fixtures that clash with the champions league. They're always well down on comparable midweek matches.

Well Sky and the SPFL have found a way to show all games in Scotland, and without Sky compromising the Saturday 3pm slot.

No, the argument is that to allow 3pm games to be televised will damage lower league clubs. So Sky showing PL at 3pm will damage all those below

Isn't that due to the fact that they are still operating under restrictions?

But there aren't any plans for them to do that are there? Whereas ifollow still being an option this season was mooted as a possibility.

Sky likes to spread games over three/four days over the weekend. On a Saturday, they often have a 12.30 and a 5.30 televised game. Now if I watched either match, then I would arrive late or have to leave early. On the 14/8/2021 the early kick off is Man U V Leeds, the later one is Norwich V Liverpool. I couldn’t watch the first televised game at home, and then get to Guiseley V Fylde for a 3.00 pm kick off. I would be lucky to get home after going to VP, until after a good portion of the first half had been played.

ifollow was only an option if crowds were limited or none. If the 3pm lockdown was removed then the PL could sell 3pm games.

Or you could get there early and watch the game in their bar.

They could and I would imagine the armchair supporters of PL clubs that have never been to an actual live game in their life and have no intention of doing so would be delighted if that happened, as would those on waiting lists for season tickets at certain clubs, but everyone else wouldn't give a monkeys.

SKY have no problem or bar on when games are televised, The Premier league who also control EFL TV rights have a ban on 3pm Saturday kick offs been broadcast, The Scottish premier league have there own separate TV deal with SKY so can choose to show 3pm kick offs if they choose. The PL premier league in England control what is allowed, Not SKY or the EFL who are bound by the Premier league rules

They Prem means nothing to me other than late evening entertainment on a Saturday with MoTD and perhaps the 1600 game on a Sunday after lunch.
The rest I never watch. I much rather enjoy watching lower level football, sadly not live at the moment, but that’s how it was pre Covid.
During Covid Premier League, no different to Sat night, Sunday afternoon routine

When all the PL games were shown live on Sky last season there were plenty of 3pm KO but they never once stopped me from watching City on iFollow. As long as the only 3pm PL games broadcast were the last pick games e.g. Norwich v Palace (no disrespect to fans of either) then I don't see a problem. I can't see someone not going to a game or buying an iFollow pass for their own EFL team because Brentford v Watford is on telly at the same time?

As previously posted. The 3pm embargo was lifted last season to allow EFL games to be shown on iFollow to help clubs with no crowds, This season they have reverted to the previous rule before covid, There will be no games televised in the PL or EFL this season that kick off at 3pm unless abroad
