And not playing players or having them in the squad when we can't afford to play I have bigger balls than you.

if Hopkin doesn't go, the fans will.

Steve Evans, Gary Rowett. Phil Parkinson surely better than Hopkin

Rowett would not drop to league one let alone league two.

Evans is a dinosaur who needs loads of money. Not gonna get it here

Why does it always come back to parky? He might choose not to come back anyway

Hopkin needs to realise that fan power contributed to Edin' s departure. Lose the fans and you could well lose your job, matey. Buck up your ideas.

I think the fans have a context and experience that anybody who is relatively new to the club is going to find it hard to understand. I don't just limit this to City, I think at various clubs this is a huge issue that has the potential to create a rift between the fans and the player/managers/board.

Clearly most of us have been here a long time, I'm sure none of us want to go back to league 2, in fact I'm sure many of us are desperate not to go back to that place. Hopkin doesn't understand, it's just another league to him, it's not hell like it is to us.

Having had to listen for 3 seasons about how the players weren't following the manager's instructions at United from both the media, the pro-jose fans and Jose himself I just don't buy that excuse from any manager now. Take Paul Pogba for example, everyone was constantly told he just wasn't doing what Jose asked and that's why he underperformed yet when we saw the true Pogba was when we went behind so games were seemingly lost causes such as the City game where he reverted to his natural style as an attacking midfielder not the defensive pivot. When players aren't following instructions they revert to their natural style not try and do something they aren't suited to. Even of the balls weren't going there for example unless instructed Miller isn't going to set himself up as a TM, he is more likely to run channels. Doyle is another who isn't going to try and play as a TM as he has in 90% of Hopkins lineups. Players at any level just don't choose to ignore tactics and then play a way that isn't natural to them. When a manager and his mouthpieces say otherwise its deflecting from his own failure which he won't own

If that fat barsteward Evans ever became manager of our club I would never attend a game again. Most of us have our red lines. That's the main one for me.

Part of the problem is the squad's that thin that even when players either don't perform or do as the manager asks, there's no chance of them being dropped and replaced. Add to that the fact that there's quite a few of the starting 11 that won't be at Valley Parade next season whatever league the club finds itself in.

I didn't get the impression that a large percentage of those playing yesterday were desperate for the 3 points and would give everything they'd got to help steer the club away from the relegation zone. The way things stand, the club is going down with a whimper and a shrug because it makes zero difference to quite a lot of the players wearing the shirt.

If you look at his time in Scotland it's perhaps better for him to get relegated but having picked up just enough points to make it close enough that he keeps his job. Religation gives a manager somewhat a blank slate and going down doesn't harm his rep that much as when he took over they were expected to go down. So with a more blank player slate he can bring in players who can play his way and do so at a higher level so when he bounces back up at the first attempt and then carries that form on to a title challenge his stock rises.

This is the exact process he went through at Livingston and it certainly boosted his rep more than if Livingston had not been relegated so wasn't able to reshape the squad as much and not get back to back promotions. Managers, after all, have their own agendas as most are looking to get a better job so do most really care if short term hurt for the club helps them move up quicker

    Absolutely spot on !!!!
It's not only most of the players that won't be here
Mr Rupp it seems wants to sell JR consultancy finishes the end of the season
Not sure when the managers contract expires but he's not certain to be here either
Only constant in all this is the fans

Why were a number of these players able to follow instructions during December though when they were playing a style that fit them? Why would they now suddenly revert to playing in a way they can't do

It was turgid on Sat so understand the boos, though I’d left early and was halfway back to the car by the time it was FT.

We aren’t gonna sack Hopkin though as we don’t even have a permanent replacement for Edin yet.

We don’t need to be turning on Hopkin - for all it was utter dross and the tactics were awful on Sat.
