I owe you the manners of a response oh Regal one and to a large degree you are quite right. Jon Whatmuff in the City Gent often refers to me as "Poacher turned Gamekeeper". I think all our memories dull but if you look back there have been many more times that were not good enough. I vividly remember the last game of 1980/81, Hereford at home lost 1-0 in front of some 1200 fans on a concrete hard pitch with no grass and me shouting "Got your work cut out here Roy" to incoming Roy McFarland, we all know what came next.

I'm not defending anything, my wife will tell you I still have a burning ambition for the Club and suffer my regrets just the same as always but a little quieter, mostly due to the fact she is at the same games and sometimes sees things differently.

In the post you comment on, I was merely saying (obviously not clear enough) that we have had a bad run with injuries which is now clearing, example no keeper on the bench and not a full complement of outfield subs. Added to that I was pointing out that I hoped the injury situation would clear and hinted that in my view come January with no injuries and perhaps additions we would do well. You only have to look at the early games this season to see we got points and scored goals. Further, looking at our recent matches with a depleted squad we have had good results away at Newport, Swindon and Vale and what you certainly cannot argue is that if those games had been last season we would have had a kicking, look at games last time at the likes of Oldham and compare.

Football often turns on small things, injuries, one piece of luck, whatever. Keep the faith and keep your crown on!

One of my frustrations (apart from ROD) is after we have defended a attack we stroll aimlessly back upfield instead of showing a bit of awareness and looking for a positive position to take...

He's my mp, and to be fair to him is excellent at getting back to people even if his hands are tied.

Unfortunately , due to the lies his boss has told about HS3, and his party's belief that the North only has an LS or M postcode, he won't be getting my vote next time.

An analogy is a plane. It taxis up and down on the runway, but for whatever reason doesn’t get enough speed to get airborne. Yes there have been some small maintenance issues. Other aircraft achieve take off. Given the delay, our plane after it eventually gets into the air, is so far behind that it cannot get its slot and fails to get to the destination in time.;)

Agree with most of that but unfortunatly we know we need a 2 goal magin if the opposition score we do tend to hang on.
Once again yesterday when Vernam got us back into the game why not bring Lavery & Eisa on when our tails are up.
Apparently Sutton was not 100% fit he was badly missed yesterday for his energy in midfield we were very slow, I honestly thought any changes/substitutions would include Sutton, wrong again Bronc's :(.

    Agree about the subs.
It was clear with 15 minutes left that they were happy with a point.
They were taking ages to fetch the ball for throws and goal kicks and the goalie waiting with the ball at his feet then picking it up and falling to the floor when our player approached him.
Why not give Sutton 15 minutes to see if his energy going forward could create owt?

Wow!! Deep Rod but think of this. Most aircraft on long haul (like a football season is), have taken time to have minor repairs carried out (injuries treated and sorted), computers reprogrammed (tactics) and are fit and ready to fly, fast and far. January take off anyone?

    Wow full of excuses.

This club won’t go anywhere in January because the club lacks leadership at the top. Dress everything up as much as you want. Lie to yourself if that makes you feel better but the truth is this club is a mess.

Come January other clubs will spends and get players in and also hope injuries improve. That is football.

Football is about the here and now hence why Ole at end has been sacked. It’s based on results NOW and Adams results haven’t been good enough plus his football is rubbish.

However, Adams is needed because we have a shocking owner and a novice CEO that doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Based on just football though Adam’s currently is failing at his job.

A bit to hungover to go into depth, but a typical league 2 scrappy game. The best teams who go up find away to win those games which just enforces my view we’ll end mid table. Unless there’s some miraculous signings in January but I won’t hold my breathe.

I prefer to be taxiing to the end of the runway awaiting the all clear from flight control (Stefan) to bring in 2/3 quality players, not holding my breath.
I do believe with a full fit squad we can get into a play off place but a couple of quality players wouldn't go amiss.

And this is why @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler i talking utter bollocks.

The summer transfer window was embarrassing. I said the team lacks quality and we would draw more games than win because we didn’t get the window right.

Nothing makes me think we will get the Jan window right or Rupp will put his hands in his pocket to get the top quality players for this level.

The positive pr spin doesn’t work now because most have seen things through their own eyes and admit things to themselves.

We can’t even put winning runs together.

For the great support this club has from its fans it really is getting let down from people at the top.

We’ll only “take off” if we change the clubs Ryanair mindset of “you’ve got a cheap seat, what else do you want you ungrateful tw@t”.

It’s not really deep, just a gentle smile. I really hope you are correct. I am surprised we have not fallen further behind. The automatic placed teams are six points ahead and with the goal difference, in effect are seven. The gap to close to third (at least), to avoid the lottery of the play offs, is the one we need to focus on.

Change the record Fordy. Interesting that you seem to know what is coming in January.

I don’t always agree with Fordy but he’s probably just going on previous experiences over the last 4 years, it’s always next window…

Yes same failures. This club isn’t hard to read.

Fails at the top and you know it. Just scared to say it.

Spot on. It’s not hard is it.

Just waiting for Sparks to say we are ready for the Jan window or @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler to say the City is poor and we can’t do anything. It’s all bollocks at the. Club. Run poorly with a lack of ambition.

The club is a failure and won’t change until Rupp goes, Sparks goes and some others follow.

Tbf to Sparks I’m not bowled over by his achievements, but like with Adams, the club was already failing well before he arrived there is only one common denominator in the season on season regression. If by some miracle Rupp did sell, Sparks would probably be needed for some time as part of a handover period until the new person could do things their way. There is no quick fix to our issues and sacking people won’t solve them. Not until we can have more confidence in the person at the top to recruit right anyway.

Rupp has so little interest and knowledge of football that if Sparks and Adams left tomorrow, I genuinely wouldn’t be shocked to see Rhodes and McCall back and this time last year that combo had us 2nd bottom. Things can actually get worse even when it feels like they can’t.
