I think I'd still like to see a couple of changes next week. Clarkes potential injury should be a warning to T&S. Keeping the same 11 could lead to us missing a Sutton, Watt or Cooke. Players we don't have replacements for and who are key to the form we're showing at the moment.

 

Nothing to do with him being an ex player then? He was correct about the lack of a warm up routine under Stuart and squad strength and should be used for his thoughts after the game. He's not a commentator by a long way and Radio Leeds should pick the best they can get regardless of race, creed or colour.

That yelp he did just as Rowe was about to score, was next level. If that would have been a Barrow commentator doing that, and I was listening as an away fan, I'd have reached for the mute button straightaway. It was interesting last week during Cambridge's audio commentary, how many City fans tweeted they were enjoying listening. Surely our commentary team, even some top bods at Radio Leeds must have picked up on it. I was really hoping they did and would have adapted for yesterdays game. Sadly, three minutes in they were talking about how many layers they had on, and then on five minutes, FCW Andy Kiwomya literally climaxed on live radio. Perhaps the amount of layers he does have on, stops the flow of blood to his brain. Some of the words and sentences he came out with, made me wonder if its possible to have verbal dyslexia.

Your point was nonsense and the worrying bit is that you can't even admit it to yourself and still trying to defend your nonsense point.

 

Why is it an issue? Why shouldn't those outside of football represent those who play the game.

 

There's no need to bring race into it. I do think there's an apparent selection of people into media (and other) roles based on factors other than skill, which does concern me but there's also a sensible debate to be had about why it might be necessary.

Regards Kiwomya, he's simply a terrible pundit and he shows no sign of improving. I can't imagine there's much demand for being a secondary commentator for radio based League 2 coverage though.

Playing the race card here has nothing to do with it. Andy's got the gig not on colour but he does tick some other BBC boxes:

• He's ex City
• He lives local
• He's willing to do it
• And the most important factor for the BBC....he's being paid minimal duckets to do it.

 

Do the beeb even care about the last point? The amount of money they spunk up the wall is a nonsense. I have no time for it as an organisation, I think it should be defunded. But that’s another debate.

 

I don't understand this obsession that broadcasters have with finding an ex-player or manager connected to a club as the pundit.
Here's an idea: Why not get a pundit who is just knowledgable about the game and can add value to my experience of listening/watching the game by stringing a coherent sentence together?
Is that too much to ask?
