I'm not convinced that some of our players last season qualified on the having a pulse rule.

Okay, so after consultation with several historians and football experts, I'm in agreement with @River_City_Bantam and @BWWB. If the Football League/Checkatrade Trophy is included, all other minor/defunct cup competitions that City's first-team have played in against fellow divisional/league teams should do, too.

So with that in mind, four new Heritage Numbers have been awarded to Mel Gwinnett, Michael Guy, Andrew Burton and Martin Pattison. It also means the list has reshuffled somewhat, and some debuts adjusted, to fit those players in chronologically - but now, the Bantams Heritage files have an 'Other Cup' appearances and goals column, which will include the following competitions:

• Football League Trophy (and all its various aliases and predecessors, including the short-lived Football League Group Cup)
• The Full Members Cup
• The Division Three (North) Challenge Cup

That means that the following competitions are now recognised:

• League
• FA Cup
• League Cup
• Football League/EFL Trophy/Associate Members Cup
• Full Members Cup
• Division Three (North) Challenge Cup)
• Intertoto Cup/European Football

If anyone thinks there are any more errors or competitions that should be included, please do say. I hope the list serves a purpose for City fans, if for nothing more than a statistical reference point which is readily available online.

But it started somewhere didn't it? Can you imagine Barca 50 years introducing this slogan and backwards people taking the piss out of it? I'm not saying City are comparable but it's just a bit of marketing and the fact it even gets raised as tacky is wide of the mark or lack the understanding of our supporters as a whole as they're too blinkered enjoying themselves taking the piss out of someones idea to try promote season tickets.

A whole host of clubs use slogans as hash tag when promoting, infact it's not just a strictly football thing IT is pretty much in any commercial advertising slogans are used.

Maybe not the feeling I get but I guess the ploy was to make it feel like the club was ours again after ER - alternatively the club could make no effort with the marketing and people will complain like they did post James Mason. Regardless of whether Mike or yourself think it's tacky or crap we've sold just short of 14k so the marketing department down at City should give themselves a pat on the back, they would see the slogan been a small part of that campaign.

ps If you want to quote Barca, please do it correctly. It's 'Mes que un club'. Mus is a Spanish card game - YES GAFFER, accept my apologies.

I hate # full stop. #this #that. They are also not exclusive when you look at them, they have different meanings for different campaigns and issues.

 

I dont know if Ive said this already ? ..mind I am a football touretter ! But at this risk of repeating myself ...why would a #heritage number be of any value on a current players shirt ?

I'm not having a go at them for once but if its Richards-Liverpool the new lad. Whats he done to deserve his number now ? Surely the idea is you earn your Spurs to get a number not simply be handed it aa soon as your come through the door.?

Far better that we stick Ces Podds #number on his shirt remind him exactly who Ces was and what he gave to the club and say get out there and do it justice. Also if you purchase a replica,f Richards-Tranmere shirt does it come with his #heritagenumber ?

 

But he won’t “just be handed a number”? He has to earn a place in the side and be rewarded with game time before he gets his number.

Sorry I mean Richards-Southport ..but even having earned a place in the side he has to do something like ? appear in a certain number of games to be considered a #heritageplayer rather than just hand these numbers out like confetti. So does that mean that Jari Vanhala who turned out for half a game is part of the clubs #heritage ? That's where this whole #heritage idea falls down. The heritage players should be those with longevity and achievement such as Jimmy Spiers , Bobby; Stuart; Gary Jones, Stephen Darby et al not player that appears for 45 minutes. Got to say thinking this through more it's a reasonable idea but is undervalued by the shear mass of players being inducted as #heritageplayers just because they pulled on the shirt ..it's quantity over quality on an Industrial scale?
