How do you replace a keeper of the status of lewis - Doyle? Don't make me laugh or a chance of a new keeper. If the sale goes through this will bring uncertainty to our team and defence and send the wrong message with the start of the season so close.

Crying shame if this rumour becomes fact.
Harry has without doubt endeared himself to our fanbase and he would be a big miss with supporter's,young and old.
That said if the opportunity presents itself to play at an higher level who could blame him.
We supporters have witnessed some really good goalkeeping, and social banter from Harry's larger than life character.
He's an exceptional person and a great ambassador.
If he stays and I hope he does it's down to him and out of our hands sadly.

    Harry should wait.

Barnsley are facing fines and point deductions for next season.

There's no reason to head there this season in my opinion.

He has two years left on his contract if we take up his option, so why not wait another 12 months to sell him?

My Barnsley supporting mate seems to think a bit of a storm in a teacup, something to do with administrative mistakes and any deductions will be suspended. He also says Barnsley fans are talking about this deal happening. I hope he's wrong

Maybe. Any national news story about Barnsley could easily involve a little additional click bait.

I would advise any player to sit it out though - especially going from a competitive side just one division below.

It is the wrong time to guess what the FA are going to do.

I think you’re over egging the trouble Barnsley are in. They aren’t anywhere near in the same as bother Wigan and Reading (who have just hired Ruben Selles as manager.)
Their charges are something completely different and the Barnsley owners wealth is in the billions. If they want Lewis they’ll get him.

There's a link on the Barnsley forum suggesting an undisclosed fee between £500 and 700K has been agreed.

Come on we knew this might happen.

City will never play hard ball as soon as some throws £5 their way. City always easy pickings.

You want Harry to stay... Well.. we should got promoted.. but bottled it.

I do hope he stays though. Sounds it's a done deal. Bradford city.. easy easy easy

I recon if they have offered anything over £250k we would let him go, and with that mindset we will never get out if this league.

If a serious offer has been made and the figures being banded about on here are correct, then I am sure the club will not stand in his way. And if so, as fans we will expect the money to be used to add to the squad before the end of August, albeit not all of it on a replacement keeper.

it's not just losing Harry. We have to consider all the knock on effects as well. For a start I'll have to get a new mug for my coffee at work :(

That’s the thing, too many people can brush off not getting promotion as just a blip and happy because getting to the playoffs was progress.
But failure to go up last season was a catastrophic failure and now we are seeing the implications of that where we lose our best players and can’t keep hold of the better loan players.
We need to stop this acceptance of mediocracy and as fans should be holding the owners / CEO and manager to account for why we still languish in the khaki league.
How is it that other ‘bigger’ clubs who’ve been in league 2 have only been there for 1-2 seasons?
If we lose Harry then that’s a real shame but every penny of the transfer fee should be re-invested into the squad to guarantee automatic promotion this time. Playoffs are not good enough.
    Rant over!!!!

Practically thinking, a fee of around 700k for a player who has had only one proper, full professional season, with 1 year of a contract left, is hard for a club like us to decline. Sad reality of our club I’m afraid.

However I’d be mightily disappointed if this does become true. As much as it may be a reality, i find it really hard to accept Barnsley are the step up he is capable of should he have as equal good as season as last, despite them been a league above us - but that’s just me been bitter.

Years of been a city fan tells me this is more likely to happen than not, sadly….
