Harry Lewis to Barnsley?

In an aggressive manner over a rumour. Do you think that is acceptable behaviour?

 

So what if he leaves ? He's a good keeper but he's not Gordon Banks and he's not irreplaceable, the team isn't exactly built around him and no one is going to die if he leaves.

He's had one season in the league. Get £500k and a sell on and we've done well.

 

Would anyone be bothered if Lewis left for say £500,000 and we got a season long loan keeper in the mould of Pickford, with the money spent on a couple of quality players.
I not sure they would.

 

I wouldn't. Like I say, nice lad, good keeper but absolutely not irreplaceable

 

Probably not no, but you're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think we'd get anything near that.

 

A lot of ifs in that scenario which most likely won't happen.

 

Undoubtedly Pickford was a real find, but there are plenty of goalkeepers out there, just as good as Lewis.

 

I don't think he will leave , just throwing a scenario out there,
Barnsley,might be a division above us, but is it a real step up for him, another good season with us and he could get a move to the championship and potential high earnings.

 

Then Barnsley should have no problem finding one somewhere else then.

 

I am sure they will, after all Conor Ripley ended up at Morecambe, under sir Adams , i am too good for you.

 

They were told the price after two apparent bids, and failed to meet the asking price or the deadline set. So they probably have other targets in mind.

 

Matter of opinions isn't it. I'll give you Walker as a third who might be good enough on his day to edge a team to promotion. The rest for me fell short. You'd be happy starting next season with the same squad as last season? I know I wouldn't. I'll gladly sulk away because I'd quite like to be slightly more convincing promotion candidates than we were last season and God forbid play slightly more entertaining football.

You carry on celebrating an average season and a whimper in the play offs.

Its not the same squad as last season, some players have signed, some have left and some remain.
We were not far off last year, its all down to if the playing changes improve us and we will only know that after the season starts.

 

I know. I was referring to the merits of last season and posing a hypothetical question to gauge how strong that squad was. No idea what the new recruits will be like. I'll reserve judgement like you say till they've bedded in.

 

I think Taylor will be steady away and a good replacement for Chritchlow, Mcdonald was a good player and well liked at Exeter,
Lets hope he stays healthy.
The others i know very little about, but i am hopeful Smith will be a useful addition.
Walker and Osadibe are also like new players, having missed large parts of last season.
We still have the loan market and lets hope for more Wright and Banks than Nevers , Bola and the rest.

 

Got high hopes for Pattinson too. I'm not convinced we've got the right man in charge unfortunately.

 

Lewis has the potential to play in the Championship at the very least and I would like to think he would do that with us. He would be missed as he is a likeable person and seems to love his football but like others have said he is not irreplaceable. I would hope the club are asking silly money for him as if he goes then we have a good fighting fund to replace him and maybe add a few more decent talent across the squad.

 

I forgot about him, i don't turn my football brain on until the end of July, still on auto pilot.
Lets hope he can get close to double figures in goals and assists.

 

I think it’s very anti-social and unjustified but this whole idea of calling for a ban. Do me a favour !
