Grimsby fan in peace. Looking forward to Saturday with should be a really good turnout from both sets of supporters. We’ve started to play some decent football under holiday but it’s early days and he’s working largely with a squad that was assembled at the start of the season to play a less sophisticated way (stick it on James Hanson’s head and hope for the best).

I fancied us prior to Bowyer’s sacking, slightly less so now. I have great admiration for the job McCall did at Scunny.

I only live in Leeds so it’s an easy one for me. Meeting up with a few mates at the station then the plan was to have a couple in The Turls Green, then onto City Vaults and then probably the Sparrow on the way to the ground.

I’ve been to all these places a few times before, but never on a match day. Are they likely to be off limits to away fans, particularly given the large following on Saturday? If so, is there a designated ‘away pub’ anywhere?

The 3 pubs you mention will be fine IMO.

 

Stuart has played Danny Devine at right back before,would he be a better option than Henley?.

Jamie Devitt to play the ‘Law’ role of tucking in to give us more bodies in the middle and allowing Wood to overlap. Guthrie getting the nod over Novak because he’s quicker but still good in the air

 

I don't think Akpan will suit McCall's style. He'll get Reeves back to somewhere near his best imo.

 

Loads of Scunthorpe fans in those bars a few weeks back with zero problems.

 

Agree, my youngest (who is 12) had decided to boycott games as he was bored after away trips and last home games. He didn't come with us to Oldham and wasn't going this Saturday but is now full of excitement saying it will be rocking now Stuart's back and Grimsby are bringing a few!!

 

Jake doesn’t tackle so it’s irrelevant as to whether Stuart can get him passing forward etc. We need someone that tackles. Admittedly, Hope hasn’t done it enough, but he has shown on his day that he’s capable of breaking up play

Shocked that you're fooled by a busy player that tends to pass side ways and doesn't tackle.

 

I have no preference what team Stuart plays, none at all.

Do not mind any players playing or not playing as I think it will be completely different regardless.

At least I hope so!
