I don't disagree with that either but all the troubles he had here last time, weren't there at Scunthorpe but once they went on a slide he found it difficult to turn things around much like at each other job he's had even when you take his second spell with us out of the picture. that's the one reservation I have about the appointment.

 

Two reasonable shouts and the two I'd have selected from the list on here before SM was appointed although Jones may have been difficult to persuade after time in the championship.

We were a VAR decision away from being promoted to the Championship under SM. Despite ER's damaging involvement in team affairs.

 

We weren't a var decision away from promotion though, now you're making things up. If you're going to pick apart his post at least make sure your own points are factually correct.

 

If you say so. Those of us of sounder mind take into account the new manager has been in for 3 days training, and had to turn around a squad that haven’t looked to attack in that way all season.

 

Argue all day if you want about quality, entertainment or whether x y or z are better equipped in leading us out of this division, I'm just relieved I didn't have to watch the ball get rolled clumsily backwards and forwards across the back line for half the game. Delighted Stuart mentioned afterwards that those days are over for the time-being. It's a thumbs up from me.

 

I think its important to keep things in perspective. We're in danger of making a similar mistake that was made when Peter Jackson came in where mediocre performances were praised because they looked better than they did under Taylor. A 6/10 performance is still just a 6/10 performance.

That's not a criticism of Stuart as what else can e expected after 3 days but let's not lose sight of the bigger picture in any praise.

 

Unfortunately for Stuart with the amount of weather about at the moment it’s going to be difficult for Stuart to get on the training pitch and get his ideas across similar to Grayson the other year

 

VAR didn't exist so that's void. we also had to score to be promoted which we didn't so your post is factually incorrect on two points.

 

Just a word about the singing when we played Grimsby. Whatever happened to those old classics from years back...." you're not fishing anymore " and " must have come in a trawler ". We need to educate our younger supporters .

 

What's a trawler? (Anyone remember Edwina Tarpley? Always got to do the Gwimsby Twawlermen stories on Calendar)

 

Not to mention, "who ate all the fish".
