How are they excuses? Anybody can see that our pitch has been unplayable for a few months and the training pitches haven’t been any better. Do you think he should just accept the job without knowing his budget?

    Stupid post

Yes, but it doesn’t give the same level as grass pitches. The ball bounces differently and ‘artificially’ as opposed to a proper pitch. That’s why the club had ALREADY said the work needs doing. This wasn’t because Grayson demanded it..!

New drainage on the main training pitch was done approx 2 years ago paid for by Shipley Bantams and Friends of BCFC , Not sure the total cost but between them SB and FoBCFC contributed £30,000 I believe or around that figure along with a new sprinkler system for Valley Parade and new goal nets

It is time for some straight talking between Grayson and the Board.
I agree entirely with Grayson's approach and stance.
Let's see what our Owner's are made of.
For me it's put up or shut up time.
No more wild predicted outbursts from the board regarding how many years before we reach the Championship.Take a back seat and let the manager, manage who ever it turns out to be .
If Grayson stays and all parties work together we stand a fighting chance next season.
Dictate from the boardroom only and suffer the inevitable backlash from the supporters.

I think the artificial pitch was renewed as an insurance claim as the water levels covered that area during the flooding, as did the pitch at the front near the car park all under water at the time.

Ah, so a club with limited funds are happy to spunk money on training pitches that don’t need doing...! Yeah that makes perfect sense.

Excuse me if I disregard your posts to my recycle bin and believe the comments from Paula Watson instead..!

Has Grayson set the bar so high that the owners can’t possibly reach it (without heavy investment)?

He’ll probably say the owners didn’t match his ambition, which gives him the perfect get out excuse.

If he gets what he wants, then I hope he hasn’t risked the future of the club should he fail.

    Poppycock.

What has he asked for that A) wasn’t needed or wouldn’t be requested by any manager and B) hadn’t already been discussed by the club as something we need to do?

How is he risking the future of the club? From his statement, he said he wanted assurances about the playing budget. Any person wanting the job would ask the same.

He said he wanted us to sort the pitch. Paula Watson had already said it was a priority and something the club have needed to do for a while but delayed.

He said we needed to make improvements to the training facilities as we haven’t been able to get outside recently (on grass) because of the state of the pitches. Again, something Paula said would be getting rectified come the Summer.

So, from what I’m reading, Grayson is just asking them not to go back on promises made and to provide him with a competitive budget. Hardly getting in the excuses already or holding the club to ransom as some are claiming

With having so many good seasons on the bounce expectation has risen massively . Am hoping this is just a blip and next season we can get back on track. Getting Grayson signed up will play a massive part in that . The t and a article does signal that talks are imminent. Let’s hope a agreement can be reached

The ball is firmly in the owners court. Grayson is by far and away the best candidate for the job. The question is will Edin admit that he’s doesnt know as much about football as he thinks and take a back seat and give Grayson what he needs to do the job?? My personal opinion is no. The bloke is far too stubborn and as others have said I think Grayson will walk because of this, however obviously I hope I’m wrong. Next season could be a long hard one.

Why did Grayson state last night then that it's been very difficult to train, let alone get a game on at Valley Parade?

Errrrmmmm! WEATHER! ! MOST PITCHES GET WATERLOGGED IN HEAVY RAIN. Training pitch gets turned over and reseaded every season nothing major required. ( unlike vp)

Very true, but rewind 1 week and Grayson was saying his contract situation can wait as other things are more pressing.
