Grayson not stupid he knows how to get teams out of this league it' either back him or sack him. I don't get the call for the latter he came in to the club with a team very low of confidence and other things going on but none of these players are actually his signing so to judge him on that would be stupid. We only have to look at Jewell when he took over from Kamara results weren' great but once he got his players in the following season it was a huge success.
The one bit of interest for me are where he is quoted as saying if the seasons ends now I know who I would keep (even those on longer deals) and which players I would bring in. To me that sounds like he knows who has what it takes to move forward that are already here, so when he does have a meeting about his future the names of those he wants to go will be brought it.

I think there are accurate parallels drawn with Jewell and especially Parkinson's first months in charge. Difficult at first but you can see what they're trying to implement. I'd fully expect us to be a different force next year with Grayson in charge of his own players and not a squad that gave up in January, so hopefully we get Grayson signed up soon. -
The threads moved on a bit but going back to the original point I am 100% behind Grayson’s comments and each time I hear him speak he’s saying the things I want to hear - no doubt he has seen through the holes made under the current set up and equally I have no doubt he has a better solution to fix them, but under his rules. There’s been a fair few critics of SG but his time here is measured in weeks working with someone else’s poor squad and whilst performances could have been better some are expecting a silk purse from a sow’s ear. The German’s have given themselves the best chance of promotion by bringing in Grayson, no one has a CV from this league as good as his, now see it through, recognise his methods are successful and give him the tools which will give us the best chance of promotion.

What has he asked for that A) wasn’t needed or wouldn’t be requested by any manager and B) hadn’t already been discussed by the club as something we need to do?
How is he risking the future of the club? From his statement, he said he wanted assurances about the playing budget. Any person wanting the job would ask the same.
He said he wanted us to sort the pitch. Paula Watson had already said it was a priority and something the club have needed to do for a while but delayed.
He said we needed to make improvements to the training facilities as we haven’t been able to get outside recently (on grass) because of the state of the pitches. Again, something Paula said would be getting rectified come the Summer.
So, from what I’m reading, Grayson is just asking them not to go back on promises made and to provide him with a competitive budget. Hardly getting in the excuses already or holding the club to ransom as some are claimingStop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Reading that artical I would suggest all that has been said about players not being interested looks like its true when Grayson says if other managers ask about a player I will give a honest answer.
On reading that article and the video interview I hope the owners are prepared to back him finacially because if he walks (without another job lined up) I believe the fans resent unrest will be nothing in comparisons, over to you Edin & Stefan.Ollylondonbantam, Klepton, Silverbantam and 4 others like this. -
If we part ways with Grayson, then we know exactly what Edins “ambitions” are and. It confirms that no lessons have been learnt.

The worry is, Rupp has backed Edin as far as he is willing to and now he's leaving it up to him to sort it out with whatever finance he can create. From what I can see, that wouldn't leave enough for Grayson to carry out his sweeping changes to personel, the ground and the training facilities.Inspector, Silverbantam, Utters0 and 3 others like this. -
You would have thought that Edin would know that SG was never going to be a budget option. So desire has to be met by shaking the money tree. The outcome without doubt, will be intently awaited by all City fans and serve as an indication of whether our expectations are to be met or not. Crunch time for intent and honest resolve.

I give it a couple of weeks at most and there'll be an announcement about Grayson leaving at the end of the season.
There is no way these owners are going to fund the things mentioned in the article and with the poor season ticket sales it's ready made to be blamed on us fans.

With having so many good seasons on the bounce expectation has risen massively . Am hoping this is just a blip and next season we can get back on track. Getting Grayson signed up will play a massive part in that . The t and a article does signal that talks are imminent. Let’s hope a agreement can be reached

You can’t just buy a business then just abandon your responsibilities aka Rupp. Plus and it is a big one, they bought our club on the cheap imo. It cannot have failed their research that pitch and training facilities were not up to standard and if not brought up to standard it would cost them money and interefere with their 3 year plan. It is entirely their lack of business acumen and nous that we are in this state in my view. You start your development squad at the expense of the 1st team and essential repairs and upgrading. They have gone for trying to make money whilst ignoring or hoping more like it would wait; it would only wait if by some miracle we were to gain promotion last year or this. It is the equivalent of painting the outside of your house, in order to make your house look good and attract players and investors, but round the back you have a nasty roof leak.
Now is the time to come up with Plan B, we do have one don’t we?? I strongly suspect Grayson is waiting to hear it.Inspector, Utters0, Jayteebee and 1 other person like this. -

Is Grayson the correct candidate to take bcfc forward.
I would like to think the next 6 results and performances are an indicator of whether he can turn around a disjointed team lacking in confidence around.
Can his hard stance with the players work and get the desired effect?
As many questions of Grayson, as there of Rahic..

As for our present one it has been upgraded from a Sunday League training area to a good non league semi pro training ground, Ideally we need our own instead of the schools but money is needed elsewhere so will be a low priority for the owners.Botswana Bantam, RonnieBrown and Storck like this.
