Speculation on my part Jon. However, we have heard nothing from him during our current crisis or since the season ticket sales ended. As fas I am aware he hasn’t been to any of the matches either. Not compulsory, but the last thing you should do in a crisis is go and hide.

I give it a couple of weeks at most and there'll be an announcement about Grayson leaving at the end of the season.

There is no way these owners are going to fund the things mentioned in the article and with the poor season ticket sales it's ready made to be blamed on us fans.

I hope I'm wrong I really do but let's be realistic.

I really can’t see Grayson staying. Even if Edin is willing to wind his neck in and stop interfering which I extremely doubt, I can’t see him being impressed with Graysons results so far. Even if those two hurdles are overcome it sounds like Graysons demands will simply be out of our price range.

By all accounts Rupp isnt happy with the financial return he is getting. Edin never really had much money anyway. The season ticket sales will mean the budget is reduced and we’ve got to fork out for the pitch too.

I’d be amazed if Grayson is here next season. Its a shame because despite his results so far I agree with the Parky comparisons and he certainly knows what is needed to get us promoted.

Sadly with the lack of finance available I can’t see anything other than a relegation battle next year. The only way we could avoid it is if we can supplement our budget by getting a decent price for Wyke (unlikely) or if Swansea sell McBurnie and we recoup a wedge from our sell on.

Hi BantamTalk - good to be on board :)

I think SG has been quite clever here and its one of the reasons why I honestly think he is the right man for the job. He knows everything that has gone pear shaped this season and I for one am happy to see a manager pushing for everything he wants - lets face it if he gets it from the owners then the chances of us all having a better season are greatly increased. I am sure he also has a 'minimal wish list' which is perhaps more realistic but which would still deliver what he believe he needs for success. I like the fact he is talking about have a recruitment list and not accepting second best (effort wise) from the existing players - if they want to be here next season then they have got to show so in the remaining 6 matches. To a man on C&B our main gripe was not really the lack of ability (as we all know we took a backward step this season with regards to this aspect) but the lack desire, passion and playing for the shirt.

If SG does stay it will be on his terms and therefore he will also know it will be fair game to judge him on what happens. I know performances have not been great under SG but we have to take into account all the turmoil at the club - if we deliver the effort the players showed against Shrewsbury last week over the next 19 days I for one will be happy. As fans we will also get a clear gauge of the owners intentions over the next couple of weeks, if they back SG then we will know they have to both cough up adequate funds and move aside; if not we can expect another tough season with a limited budget. I know a number have comments have already been made that there is no chance they will give SG what he wants but I think we should give the owners at least the benefit of the doubt until we know more.

Another committed performance and 3 pts tonight would certainly help all concerned as we enter this crucial time at our club

Re - Mr Rupp this is surprising given - the owners informed us they understood City was a long term project - so I would have thought they would not be expecting any return just yet. Mr Rahic is drawing a salary so he is getting something back - for Rupp it will not be forthcoming unless he takes a % of any transfer fees we receive in the longer term, a % of any premiership fees or selling City to new owners should we got their under their stewardship.

    Yes and No @Onside@Onside :)
No-one knows for sure, as you say, it's all speculation. Yet as we found post SMc ........ There is no smoke without a fire.

Also recognise that perhaps Herr Rupp is simply just a silent partner, particularly in the public eye ? He may well be happy to pass the vocal buck to Edin. Just as Edin has passed that buck to both Mason and Abbott, in our recent past.
Add to that ........ WHERE is the crisis (In Rupps eyes) ? Sure we failed for the play offs, but nor are we relegated. Yes, midtable, which is anything between Eighth and Eighteenth. ;)

Top post LS, best one so far and agree 100%. Edin needs to realise that his plan hasn’t and won’t work. Also that he “doesn’t know football” as well as he thought he did. Acknowledge that we’ve got the best qualified manager to get us out of this division and as you say give him the tools and the freedom to do what he does best which is get us promoted. If all this was to happen it would go along way to building some of the many bridges that Edin has burnt, my own included.

Yeah, but it's not gonna be on his terms is it? I can't see our owners just going "oh alright then Simon, we'll give you what you are asking for. Now lets order a pizza".
Otherwise Grayson would have already have been signed up long term.
At the very least, they are going to say to him that we've got a reduced budget cos of the pitch. And a reduced budget cos of the lack of ticket sales.
This then means that SG has to decide to stay on some of his terms or leave because of it.

Hi Tallinn - thats why I said we will get a clearer understanding of the owners stance, this season has not worked and how far they back SG will also indicate how hungry they still are to deliver the goals they originally laid out. I also said I am sure SG will have a 'minimal wish list' and you are quite right its unlikely he will get everything he wants. But at least SG is setting goals for the club, for the facilities, for the existing players, for recruitment etc and if he stays it WILL be because sufficient of his requests have been met. I think this would then have a positive influence on ticket sales - and l would be very surprised if the club did not make an amendment to their deadline or introduce a new offer if they felt there was a fresh groundswell of interest.

    What demands?

He said we need an improved pitch and better facilities for training. I believe we have already said investment is needed here and will happen this summer.

He said he needs to know his budget so he knows what he has to work with. This is no different a ‘demand’ than any football manager. It’s no point in Grayson looking at the likes of Oztumer, Doyle and Carey if the budget only allows average League2 players. It’s not actually a demand but assurances that we will get enough backing to turn this weak squad into a top6 one

I think we are all kidding ourselves about Grayson staying beyond May, there isn't a chance, he would have signed a contract when he came if he was serious about the club, and to be honest I can't say that he has done a great job since coming on board. I just think this club is in a right mess, but, after saying all that, I, like many others will be cheering the lads on to a victory (I hope) tonight.
    C'Mon City!!!

Grayson said, ““There are many, many things, not just my contract but it’s about budgets, the training ground, the pitch”.

And the T&A previously reported that “Work to upgrade the much-maligned playing surface and put in a new drainage system will begin on May 8 – providing they are not in the play-offs. If they are, the firm involved are also doing pitch renovations at City’s Woodhouse Grove training ground so they would start that first”.

My understanding is that Grayson has been unhappy that we have been restricted by our-door training when the bad weather hit and our pitches were unplayable. The hope is that this work will help.
