I've been one of the biggest opponents of how Rahic has done things to date. I still have big concerns over how he asserts his authority within the club and some of the decisions he makes. But honestly, 90% of my concerns centre around player recruitment. All I've wanted is for us to sign good players - accept there's a level of cost, show some measured ambition and management of acceptable financial risk and build a good side. O'Donnell, Akpan, Payne. Quality signings. Riley, Isherwood and Wood, have promise, as do Miller and Seedorf. Add someone like Doyle, keep or replace Wyke as best we possibly can, sign a steady backup keeper and we're good to go this season.

Was it not £2.5 million the fund paid for the ground. The fund will have had somewhere in the region of £10 to £11 million in rent by the time the deal ends , with even more if the agreement is taken up with the built in periodical increases.
It was a no brainer, where else would you get such returns on your investment. -

I'll believe it when I see it.
Can't imagine Gibb wants anything to do with us, other than picking up easy money for his pension fund.
And at Jack's time of life, I think he'll have other less stressful things to do with his life.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...RonnieBrown and Nick_W_ like this. -
Last time I saw Tordoff he didn’t look in any fit state to have an input in the running of a football club.

I wish Tanner had kept his mouth shut, Gibb has just used him for his own publicity. Rahic has said the club is not for slae that should be the end of the matter. His tweet helps no one.

Let’s get it right I was really critical of Tordoff in 88 but overs the years he must have put millions in and helped the club massively and I think Gibb and his business acumen would have been good. But anybody thinking it would mean millions invested in the team are living in cloud cuckoo land.We would be run on business lines just as we are now. I am looking forward to see what the German owners can do

A cheap shot really. In fairness to Richmond, we conveniently forget his bold six years before he made bad errors - when he had the courage of his convictions to put his money where his mouth is. His decision to invest in summer 98', must standout as one of the masterstrokes of any Chairman anywhere in our leagues, ever. He saw that apart from Sunderland and Ipswich there was a great opportunity
I like that we disagree on lots and stay 'friendly' as we both know each wants this club to do well, but I was never ever impressed with Tordoff. As a youth growing up in the 80's he was my first memory of what I call a cynical businessman - he had no great ambition for us and yes I appreciate he kept us ticked along, but if he was still in charge we'd be bumming around 14th in this league forever with no plan to do anything different
The current lot might appear to be the same, but they do have a plan and it is different - we'll of course see if it worksNorthernMonkey and Doodle like this. -
Richmond had no money it was the Rhodes family who financed the likes of Rankin, Mills ETC, and then took massive dividends out, yes along with the Rhodes family.broadsword and RonnieBrown like this. -

"In fairness to Richmond"- what often gets overlooked was the collapse of setanta tv deal badly affected the club when we were relegated.
Just think what huddersfield will get from sky as their parachute payment if/when they fall out of the premier league.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...broadsword and BoingBoing like this.
