Wasn't it GG that bought the ground for 5 million in order for us to survive? Wasn't it also Gibb who said that there was no need to go into admin but Rhodes forced it so he could have his train set to himself? Truth is with Gibb we weren't going for a 2nd admin and the truth is we only really survived the first one (of this era) because of him? For once in your life take your fecking blinkers off

Not a snowflake at all, I was just putting a new word into the forums lexicon. The fact that one of the lower orders of primate understands it gives me immense satisfaction.

I note the comment, ‘...but my love of the club has never gone’.

Just a very small and dead straight question, but how has that ‘love’ translated into action?

Has anyone seen Gibb at any Bradford City game since 2004?

Yeh but what price? Rahic and Rupp paid over the odds anyway, the club has no assets. I only see Gibb being interested because he's worried what might happen long term to Valley Parade.

T&A state that Bradford City's annual rent bill in 2011 to Gibb's pension fund was £370,000 pa on a 25 year lease.

This new T and A article is wrong. They stated Gibb sold the ground for £5m which is incorrect.. A quick look in the archives shows he sold the ground for £2.5m (to his pension fund) and then the offices, and car park were sold independently for another £2.5m.

    http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/8011079.Valley_Parade_is_sold/

Despite his "love for the club" bravado, his game with Rhodes cost us badly. We paid an extortionate rent initially then he refused to discuss selling back, and made an incredibly bad decision when lawn tried to renegotiate the rent. Lawn wanted to pay less now and more rent the higher we got up the pyramid. Lawn said Gibb was stupid as we'd be in the premier league paying peppercorn rent.
And to think some people want this schiester back. Thats before we even get started on tordoff

    :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm telling you England's great World Cup is affecting my brain

Next, I'll be trying to persuade you that Matthew Bates and Aaron McLean were great signings

Like Gibb or not............it is down to him that we have a football club today, as he was the only one who came up with the money to save us last time by buying the ground and putting up money for the administrators.

Ooooh!! Nasty swear words. Clearly not in the World Cup mood are we Goose?

I have my blinkers off and whilst I remember what you said, my last memory of Gibb was him insisting on his pound of flesh and he got and we suffered the consequences for years

Or have you conveniently forgotten this bit? I'd hate to use your last sentence back against you

If you think we should be falling back into bed with someone who kicked us out of it, as soon as we wouldn't dress up like they wanted - then it shows you just how blinkered you are against the current regime

Agree Jack has been one of the clubs major sponsors for many years, certainly when the club needed every penny they could get.
I smile when I hear about the situation with regards Jack not signing Curle & Townsend, yet some hold Richmond up as some kind of God, and he took us into administration, now't like selective memories.

I don't see a couple who've given us a bigger net spend and know how to play ball when it comes to selling their assets (i.e. not fluttering their eyelids at the first interest in Wyke) as been in the description I described

I realise that daring to believe that getting young players who actually want to play as opposed to all older ones, who are led by money, is ridiculous - but as we're seeing in the World Cup with Belgium, France and England if you can give a bunch of youngsters with perhaps some older heads a licence to enjoy themselves, it doesn't half bear fruit

Or you can write the plan off before a ball has been kicked and give it two owners, who were always way down on the list as ambitious footie people

I very much doubt, it but it was also well known he would never get involved with anything Bradford City as long as the Rhodes family were anything to do with the club.

A cheap shot really. In fairness to Richmond, we conveniently forget his bold six years before he made bad errors - when he had the courage of his convictions to put his money where his mouth is. His decision to invest in summer 98', must standout as one of the masterstrokes of any Chairman anywhere in our leagues, ever. He saw that apart from Sunderland and Ipswich there was a great opportunity

I like that we disagree on lots and stay 'friendly' as we both know each wants this club to do well, but I was never ever impressed with Tordoff. As a youth growing up in the 80's he was my first memory of what I call a cynical businessman - he had no great ambition for us and yes I appreciate he kept us ticked along, but if he was still in charge we'd be bumming around 14th in this league forever with no plan to do anything different

The current lot might appear to be the same, but they do have a plan and it is different - we'll of course see if it works
