Gary Bowyer - manager next season

Enjoy., a lot of players are contracted to us next season. I don't think the squad is as bad as currently showing but defence and attack needs urgent work.

 

Not read all this thread, I was happy at the appoint and feel he will give us a good chance at bouncing back next season.
Given the pelters Hopkin got however, it’s not unfair to point out the zero progress during Bowyer’s time, his bizarre team selections choosing to start one of our worst players over one of, if not the best. Taking away the captaincy from our most commited player and giving it to one of the most least effective.
He will get my full support going forward but I can’t get my head around a number of these early decisions so far.

 

Isn't it ironic that after producing one of the worst displays ever on home soil everyones clammering for Bowyers signature. It seems it he just got lucky that the latest team to stuff us was one that was 80% his - a point he was at pains to mention whenever he could. I've no doubt he could make a good fist of rebuilding the squad but lets face it anyone with a modicum of competence will out-do last summers efforts. Other aspects of his managerial credentials needs more scrutiny imo. Turning a team out to capitulate in a vitally important game is less impressive. He's promised it won't happen again - well let's wait and see. There's no great rush. I'm all for continuity but I'm also aware that we've lurched from one bad decision to another poor judgement for god knows how long now. We can't afford another mistake.

 

Oh and signing him until the end of the season was one of our better recent decisions imo. Sensible in not rushing headlong into anything given our recent track record.

 

Very much so. But there again, he was dealt with a tub of shin beef, and people expected a steak platter, with all the trimmings.

 

Yeah, but if he takes that shin of beef, and gives it a looooong loooong time in the oven, it might turn out decent.

 

Yeah .......... But 11 games in footballing terms, whilst hamstrung is only a moment.

 

That may well be very true but most other clubs in the lower leagues couldn't give away 18,000 to 20,000 season tickets.

For all of our failure to achieve over most of our existence, there is the potential to be a big club if success on the field can be attained.

Counter that by Peterborough one of our best displays of the season. We all saw what Blackpool fans thought of his time there .
We need to get him appointed as soon as possible and get on wire planning for next season

 

So have I missed an official announement about next season Manager ?

Or is it just speculation ?

 

Nothing wrong with shin beef if cooked correctly. It makes the best stew you will ever taste.

 

Has he done an interview today?

Read most of this thread.. To be honest Im a bit bewildered by the sheer 'entitlement' of some of the posters in this thread. Personally I would *like* us to have a top 7 finish but you've somehow forgotten how shit we are.. Theres no magic wand. Most of the contracted players will be here and if not we all know well what happens after a full squad rebuild..

These people who are wanting chris powell in need looking at, when you have 3 mangers in and the form is petty much the same over the season its clearly the players that are the issue... Does nobody see that bowyer got blackpool up on the first time of asking? (i still think our 'players' are far worse) I would bet £1000 that pep comes in here at this point nothing would change...

Personally im praying we secure Bowyer's services - the club demands some consistency.

Think Bowyer will jump at the offer though. Doubt he would be hired anywhere else.
