Gary Bowyer - manager next season

If pomotion isn't the target next season this seriously no point any of attending the games. We might as well say away until Bradford City as a club gets some ambition.

 

I could put at least 3 before O'Connor mate.

 

Disagree we have to be in with a chance of getting into a play off mix, midtable will not put bums on seats IMO.

 

I think you could go further and virtually name a full teams worth of players to go before O'Connor did.

 

It won’t please the strange bloke in front of me, calling him a c word all game. But it’d be a good appointment for me, been there and done it at that level with a club in a mess.

Back him with a competitive budget which the statement said, and have a real go at promotion to try get this mess sorted ASAP.

 

This in a nutshell. Please lets not here talk of consolidation and mid table finishes. Could you imagine Sunderland fans accepting mid table mediocrity in league 1. No, and neither should we. Never heard so much rubbish. The playoffs would be an absolute bare minimum next season, anything else is complete failure and should see the end of whoever is in charge at the time.

 

I think Gary Bowyer will see it as a rebuilding job with an aim of promotion sooner rather than later.
We all agree that the squad needs a total rebuild so it will take time for them to gel. If we get the type of players in that we all know we need that will be a big move forward for me (and many others I should imagine).
If they gel quite quickly and we hit the ground running we will probably get the instant promotion we all want.
If that sounds like I have written this season off I think I probably have, although I will keep putting myself through the torment of attending the games.

 

Noooooooo, I think Hudson-Odi was fantastic last night. An 18 year old at the beginning of his career. I meant he made a mistake, and it was the comments that followed that was interesting.

It goes to prove if they are good enough they are old enough, his energy and pace was a joy to watch, not least his natural talent.

Why don't we stick to the original plan and decide at the end of the season?

 

Unless a manager would accept being employed on a game to game basis I'd suggest a 1 year rolling contract is the least you would offer someone you think will get the club back on an even keel, as he must have had the assets you required to be your next manager.

 

Yet I'm happy to talk of consolidation.
By all means 'go for promotion' ........ But to make that a priority would be madness - There are NO guarantees in life, and if City didn't achieve said promotion, the same usual posters on here would again lose their schitt.
My hopes are high, but my expectations and common sense are just a tad lower.

Remember the attitudes last time we were in Lge 2 ? Yeah ........... 6 freakin' long years it took !

How, you asked me a couple of days ago on another thread if I knew if preps were under way for next season. I felt it inappropriate to comment ahead of yesterday's statement but you now have some of the answer.
Additionally I believe GB has talked to JR about pre season and no doubt players. Will that do for you? Can't help more as I'm at my place in Spain at the moment.

Sorry Ron, i’ve had it to the back teeth with this club and failure, its where fordy has it bang on even if he does go a bit extreme. I don’t expect anything in league one for a few years due to our position but i certainly expect promotion from league 2 next season. Don’t confuse that with me knowing 100%, nothing is ever certain. But its about time tue fans of this club heightened their expectations and demands, accept mediocrity and you’ll pretty much get it.

 

Fair play, RT. It's just that I've grown very weary of disappointment. Can I blame that on Rahic, too ?

 

He was directly at fault for 3 of the goals, the 1st, when he was marking their scorer and then got caught ball watching. The 2nd, when he was backing off that fast he ended up in the Broadway and the 3rd, when he completely failed to put in any effort whatsoever to either mark his man or even jump for the ball.
