I thought Bowyer sounded like he might want to stay when he was talking in the paper the other day, he hinted at the similarities between us and Blackpool and mentioned rebuilding.

I think it's too late in the day to start with yet another manager now, if we appoint a new one at the end of the season he would want to form his own opinion about our players, potentially delaying departures and recruitment.

Agreed. The short term appointment never sat right with me anyway as it's been clear for a while that this group of players did not have what it takes to get us out of trouble, so in many respects results under Bowyer are all but irrelevant in making a judgement on whether he is the right man.
Having made the appointment we can only hope that he will effectively use the coming weeks to plan what's needed for next season, and of course what he doesn't need although I accept it may be difficult to offload some of the dross that Mr Rahic has lumbered us with.
I was encouraged by his comments post Saturday's game. We need a major rebuild and if we do appoint Gary Bowyer the good news is that the plans for the rebuild are starting now and not in the close season with yet another guy in charge.

Give Bowyer time he will get it right. Just hope fans expectations aren't too wild. Could take a few seasons to rebuild, some fans will probably expect instant success.

Of course fans want instant success. Do you think people will buy season tickets and think,“this is a season of consolidation with a fantastic mid-table finish” of course not! Like it or not, whatever the situation, fans pay for and expect results. That’s football and it’s supposed to be an entertainment business and definitely a results business.
Stop accepting mediocrity and demand as a customer, success. I’m glad you’re not on the marketing team.

Cant remember the last time we went in to a summer without some sort of cloud hanging over us with regards management, ownership or squad numbers.
Give bowyer it now, and let's start planning now and not late july

Let's get right behind him then and not call for his head after a couple of losses - that won't do anybody any good.

Whatever will be will be this season, let's give him the summer to recruit and back him!

So, its down to Bowyer to bring in the players needed to rebuild; as another poster said his Blackpool team had non-league players,a big french striker, a goalkeeper from the Congo and ancient jay Spearing in the middle.
He must have good contacts or a great eye for a player.

Just so long as he doesn't commit to this Anderson fella, he isn't up to a full season or even a full game for us.

We need to trust that GB is a better judge of that than us.

No. They adjust their expectations accordingly. Even Huddersfield fans will have expected a mid-table finish with a few signings. Why? Because fans at every club are fickle and every pre-season up and down the land is the same. Nobody expects and wants mediocrity even if they are deluding themselves.
On a side note, replying with get a grip does not make your point anymore substantial.

He might not want to stay beyond summer.
We've cobbled together a special group of useless tawts in that dressing room.
They turned a confident ( but dour) new manager with new ideas of high pressing football into a divering mess.
Grayson left trying catch his own thumbs, whilst Collins is sat up Daisy Hill jibbering about loving set-backs.
That lot aren't good for mental health

get him signed up, and for god sake lets get the players out and replaced.

I'd start with Anthony O'Connor. that waste of space needs his contract ripping up. palm him off on someone else for free. I don't care but I don't want him in claret and amber next season. the useless, disrespectful, unprofessional piece of sh*t.

The fact that he is talking to Julian is a healthy sign. I think if he didn’t fancy a full rebuild he would have already said no. He is honerable bloke and would want to give us an opportunity to find another if he wasn’t interested.

I fully expect him to have a go at sorting them out.
My initial comments were very much tongue in cheek.

Agree, his attitude on Saturday was deplorable, not to even put in an effort and jump is the worst piece of defending I have seen in a long time. The young un playing for England last night didn’t jump for their goal. One the commentators said it doesn’t matter whether you are any good at heading the ball or not, you always jump as you will no doubt put them off and it may have gone to a different player.

If it was up to me I wouldn’t play him again.

absolutely. I was completely done with him after the captains armband debacle, but he was an absolute disgrace on Saturday.

I think Bowyer wants it. He speaks so well of the club and the job.

He will know what positions he needs and will
Hopefully be able to start work on sounding out targets once him and his staff are signed up

Im glad he's on board. I don't believe for a second that fans are expecting us to bounce back next season, so lets give him time to get HIS players in place and build a side we might actually look forward to watching. That'd be a breath of fresh air wouldn't it?
