I didn't question him with regards a winger within that system, but he did say the lad Serdorf was a class act with pace to burn and an end product, he can cross a ball.
He also said Collins did not like a big man up front he prefered two quick lads.

This may be the reason why we ended our interest in Kristian Dennis.

 

He said Edin was down but I never saw him, they were training in the middle area where they do the archery so there ard no boundry wall etc so we didnt venture to near.
He was a nice guy expaining Collins & Drury believed in playing the right way (always a debatable subject) he had them doing ball work inter passing between groups of 6 and wanted to get them comfortable with the ball and would be disapointed if the groups couldnt pass the ball at pace 60 times without losing control.
He pointed out Lossau had returned to the club, which I read in thd aT&A when I got home.

 

Well the lad was Asian but spoke Bradfordian as good as me, I dont think I misinterpreted it, I thought at the time when Charlie does go it can then be pointed out our new head coach prefers two quick lads rather than a little and large combo ?.

I’m not having a go I’m just curious as to why Edin needs convincing on formations?

 

According to the lad I was speaking to they must have been speaking about players and formations and apparently Edin was keen on a different formation, Edin said he wanted all levels playing the same formation (which sounds logical) but Collins and Drury are clear that they were prepared to have all other levels playing the same system but wanted the league one team to play 3-5-2.

I would think now he has these guys in he will have more input into football matters not suggesting he will pick players but IMO they will be open to comments with regards things Stuart wouldn't allow.

I must be getting more positive as I've just booked 2 seats with Andy who runs coaches from the Corn Dolly for Shrewsbury away first game of the season.

 

Fair play and I think pre season does that to us all. We forget all the poor performances and long for football again and the optimism grows.

As usual, figures and stats can be misleading. It could be argued that no manager could have had three attempts at promotion from league 2 if it hadn't been for Parky getting us promoted to league one. Equally, it could be said that Parky improved on every season as manager, which over 5 years is quite remarkable and unparraled in recent history. We can all manipulate stats but theres no getting away from the fact that Parky was a good manager for us.

 

Never said he wasn't. But he had three go's at L1 and couldn't get us out.

Those are the facts.

 

And yet Rahic/Rupp/McCall/Grayson took us further backwards than we had been the previous 3 seasons. Bloody facts and statistics eh, who’d quote them?
