Free Agent Signings Monday ?

Reading that, I think it's fair to say there will be no signings until January. The signings we target then will be with a view to getting us promoted from league 2 next season

Seems to me we won’t pay the going rate. Fair enough we don’t want to be held to ransom but if we don’t pay higher wages we’ll end up shopping in the shit pool yet again! It’s ok making funds available but if we pay peanuts then we’ll bring in the same calibre we already have.

Ok saying money is available but if you're not willing to pay the wages then that money won't get spent on quality.

Most worrying comment in that T&A article is Hopkin saying hopefully we’ll bring one or two in, in the January window. He doesn’t sound confident to me.

Why is anyone surprised? If we had a warchest available to us we'd have spent it in the summer replacing Chicksen, Bruenker and NKP.

We didn't offer him a suitable contact mate. He didn't sign.

If we can't even attract people who don't have a contract, what chance do we have of getting anyone under contract?

It's obvious from the article this morning that he's targeting quality players, which is good, but seems similar to the Keifer Moore scenario where we don't have a chance.

It's not just about money at the moment. Players don't want to come to a club where the atmosphere is bad, the team is low on confidence and their potential teammates are crap.

I'd hazard a guess that even when the window opens, we won't get anyone until the end of January, when those out of contract players realise they don't want to spend a full season out in the wilderness and will take what's on the the table.

 

I'm not so sure it's just down to players demands ......... Going on past T&A comments, Agents are looking for a healthy cut too. Even so, it doesn't sound promising. If we're limping now - we'll be crawling on all fours by January

 

It's good to know that being bottom in the league and after 2 months of Hopkin being in charge that he now feels there's a fighting spirit in the squad!!! Jeeez.

 

Not disputing that but if he’s no intention of signing and using is to get his name out there then end his trial now

 

No mention of the Norwegian lad. Normally signings like this are used to mask the frustration of the first team.
Also no mention of Seedorf, who went off with an injury after looking bright on Tuesday. Any news?

 

Yes that is something you expect as a football fan, shocking comment Mr Hopkin, “That’s the pleasing thing. We’re starting to see players put tackles in, chasing back, getting close to people.
Just how far has our club fallen as a professional football club to think those comments are positives.
