Free Agent Signings Monday ?

Also ...... Judging from some Forum match comments (Barnsley on Tuesday) - The likes of WRIGHT have still not got the message !! ...........

 

Not only that, Dennis - Their 'signing' proves you don't need to offer the security of a three year deal, to get it 'done'.

 

Think it says more about the players than anything else. Think if that's the standard then we are truly up sheet creek without a paddle and a boat!!!

 

I honestly can't believe a deal cannot be done with a non contract player on a short term deal for a reasonable amount.

What do we need?? A RB, a striker and possibly a centre half. There has to be 3 non contract players currently sat at home who would be willing to play for us until mid/late Jan with the view to an extension until the end of the season. Has to be.

I do find it odd that Caddis has been training with the club for a couple of weeks now but no contract seems to have been sorted. If he wasnt up to the standard required then I would expect Hopkin to know this within a week. Maybe he is giving him time to prove his fitness although time isnt really on our side.

 

It may be down to wages or it might be his fitness is not good enough yet and we don't want to sign him and have to pay wages until he's ready?

how long before Abbo resurfaces in the press to tell us that November is a "difficult time to get free agents in"

only City could be so desperate for players and not have signed ANYONE while teams like Doncaster go out and get what they want, 2 month contract no problem.

 

Maybe the money set aside for wages has been spent instead on Julian Rhodes?

The story is the same as it always has been under Rahic and Rupp.

Players are identified, offers are made, but then SHOCK HORROR, other clubs are interested, and we miss out.

As for pinning hopes on a January reshuffle... hmmm... skeptical at best.

 

So on which Monday is a free agent meant to be signing?

 

The 4 lads who we were looking at from abroad not getting an offer either. Must have been garbage

 

Hopkin must be wondering what the hell he's walked into.

Lets be honest, if they were not up to it we do not want to be adding more of the same! Hoped we would have been able to attract at least 1 addition who would make a POSITIVE difference to the team but there has not been much good news out of the club for nearly a year now so I guess we shouldn't be that surprised.
Trying to stay upbeat for Peterborough but difficult to know what to cling to when we just keep losing and the same messages just keep being repeated - surely Julian must see that this cannot go on for much longer, the whole club is like a stuck record! And whilst I understand his initiative, trying to get more people to come and watch the 'same old same old' is not the answer (all it will do it depress even more people )
God do we need some good news!
