Sounds like Hopkin is trying to tempt championship level free agents to come on short term deals till January. Build their fitness and establish a shop window. Then we can either try to keep or bring in fresh.

Some good options. However, £££££££££?? Some wages there which I can't see us shelling out for.

 

Depends really. If players see it as short term only, to prep for a bigger move, they may be willing to play for cheap. They’re not drawing ANY salary at the min. Even a cheap deal, with game time, is better than training only and without pay

 

Plus, I can see short term contract until January or even match by match depending on the player.

 

The article sounds like a right begging plea for anybody to come and play for us.
Just shows how shocking the thought process was behind the calamatous summer recruitment

 

Leon Best would be a good target man.

 

McGugan and Whittingham would be my picks. The midfield is atrocious. McGugan and Whittingham were imo the best players outside the premier league for a couple of seasons about 5/6 years ago.

 

I'd take most of them, possibly with the exception of JET.

we'd be a much better team to have them in, rather than what we currently put out.

awful transfer window when you look at it like that. we paid fee's for players when there's better available for free.

 

Paul Caddis was training with the squad yesterday so I would suspect he's a start.

 

Aye, we've been paying fees for poor players for some time.

We got Wyke cheap due to his clause, but spent roughly the same figure on McCartan. Mind boggling.

We paid for Poleon and Brunker.

We're also half way to becoming a Huddersfield Town reserve team/development squad/dumping ground, and that's actually probably where our best players have come from!
