“We had a great changing room at Accrington in the season we got promoted from League Two. It is something you need
A good dressing room is a must, you don't have to live in each others pockets but having a dressing room like PP & SM his first season can make a big difference on a December Tuesday night in Grimsby.

I said Joe Riley was a good signing so will be reserving judgement this off season. However, it's good to see Bowyer doing business early. He knows what he wants/needs out of a player which is they type of structure we lacked this time last year.

Have we ever signed a player as early in the summer break as this before. Good to see some early business sorted

But thats not the fault of the individuals, thats the point i was making. Take them out of the toxic environment of Valley Parade and we more than likely see a different player. On the other side of the coin look at players that left us after Wembley. How many of them went on to better themselves. Only Meredith, others like Law even dropped a division. Yet they got to a Wembley play off final because the sum of the parts worked (despite Rahic) and a manager they believed in. As Bradford End stated everyone currently at the club now starts with a clean slate. I have my doubts with some players but need to see what a new regime does for them.

Surprise hit signing for me. Along with Vaughan, best two signings going on performances so far.

First name on teamsheet as far as defence is concerned, for me. But please Bowyer, lets go back to back 4, and let the O'Connors fight it out to partner BRE

Hanson rated best player in league two?
Is this the same Hanson who was our player but is useless now and rated a crock and finished as a player by most on here?

He does seem like a good defender on paper but I guess none of us can pass any sort of judgement until his fitness is proven and we see how he performs on the pitch.

And to think the reason he didn't agree to come to us earlier when Greg enquired about him in January was because he fancied his chances of getting into the first team at Man U.

You have to hope the sheer volume of games he's played will factor into someone being interested.

If he's got a good agent, they could even pretend the SPL is a higher level than League Two.

No other option really @Park bantam@Park bantam. Theres no way we'll be able to get rid of all of them, let's hope Bowyer gets the blend right. The likes of Mellor, possibly Akpan, Scannell and Doyle (if the last 2 stay) could play a big part next season. Add to those correctly then who knows. The high earning bad eggs need shifting for the good of the team spirit and team ethic. That's where Bowyers real skill will be needed

Are we all clear that NKP has been released?

I keep reading posts that make it sound like he's still here.

    He's gone.

I think we should get some form of recognition for just how spectacularly crap we were. at several times in the last 18 months I've thought things can't get any worse, and they always did. it was a real skill.

He wasn't good when Stanley came here last season but their fans are disappointed to lose him which is always a good sign.

Turned down a new deal to drop down and sign for us, presumably for more starts?

Pretty much what you need for L2, big CBs who can deal with the physical and direct style of football. He meets the physical requirements, let’s hope he actually has some footballing ability to go with it.

Apparently and perhaps surprisingly, neither Van Dijk or Vertonghen wanted to join us. So we're left with this L2 promotion winner

Can't disagree with any of that. Our current squad of contracted players, with the exception of 2 perhaps 3, is not only poor on paper, it's even worse on the pitch. No characters or leaders at the back or in midfield. That said, I do have every faith in Bowyer to add the qualities needed for this season, yet the current crop on paper (new signings aside) would be relegation fodder for me next season too.

While fully understanding that this is the footballing version of a Greatest Hits album there were some rather pleasing tackles shown. Full blooded and well timed, two qualities that have been sadly lacking of late.
