    My youngest wasn't keen at first, it was a bit loud for him, but I persevered, and he's absolutely nuts about it now!! He's been going 12 years and he's only 15 and done about 15 away grounds which he loves telling his TV Prem watching school friends about!!

    It had to be done. Purchased a City home kit for the grandson today when I went down to see Kevin Sinfield arrive.
    He is still a bit young for a match day experience in my view, but getting him used to the idea.

    Well, it wasn’t the result we hoped for but nephew absolutely loved his first game. From the first glimpse of the ground down Valley Parade, his face lit up. Then seeing the actual pitch and inside the ground was amazing. And he easily managed to persuade me to buy him the full keepers kit and gloves. And hat a for me!
    Great day all round and he definitely wants to go again asap. So see you again soon!!

    On a bloody miserable day, (and that was before the debacle called football), then thoroughly glad your nephew enjoyed it. You are probably a better man than me if you found it enjoyable, but I suppose from a more neutral point of view, Northampton played some good stuff.
    The weather was utterly appalling, far far worse than normal!
    Look after your self, hopefully City can provide both of you with something better in the future. :thumbup:

    Took my granddaughter to her first match today, she knows nothing about football but she loved the whole thing. I think we forget what draws us in to following a team sometimes. Saying that she's now banned obviously

    As a neutral it was good watching a game with no stress or jeopardy. I was expecting more from Bradford but the Cobblers did look really good. Nephew is at a stage where just scoring one consolation goal in the 93rd made his day. I wonder how long that naive wonderment will last! We’ll be back in January for the Carlisle game. Good luck for the rest of the season. Cheers.

    Exactly. When I take out the stress of watching my own team, the whole football day experience is brilliant.
    And the beer in the Boar & Fable was very good too.

    It really took me back to being a kid and what an impact it all had on me....the lights, the noise (even just with 5k) the swearing etc. Watching her take it all in and "winning" with the penalty at the end. I really enjoyed the day through her experience and wasn't as grumpy when I got home as normal.

    There was a guy wearing a Derby County Ram logo jacket, on the concourse at the back of the Main JCT Stand, at the end of the Harrogate match, with what looked like a family group. Was it you and your nephews?

    After the success of the nephew’s first game against the Cobblers, he’s now hooked.
    So tomorrow, we’re going to the Carlisle game. Really hope there’s a home win. He was excited by a 3-1 defeat last time, so a win will send him bonkers

    Think you’ve got it a bit mixed up it’s being disappointed then go get into a permanent state on a Saturday night In fact if we all get in a state Saturday morning we might not be so disappointed come 5pm

    Drive from Newcastle, pick up the nephew from Bingley, train into Bradford and it’s off. Oh dear!!
