That’s a very generous offer, cheers. Will keep it in mind but maybe they’ll always be expected the five star treatment haha!

Think you mentioned the kids are 10 and 12, so they’re too old for it now, but for those with kids around six (if anyone is reading), the West (Main) stand has Billy’s Coup, where they can do coloring and a few craft bits in the concourse before the game. Billy Bantam comes in there too and they have given out little books for the kids before. My daughter liked it, anyway, and the lady overseeing it was great.

If bringing kid, the four things I’d think about are a) bad language b) toilet/bar facilities c) parking d) ease of getting out.

We’ve had season tickets in all three home stands and the suites in the Kop/Main stand so fwiw, my thoughts:

For me I’d say top tier of Sunwin is best overall view of pitch.

Newer stand so more legroom than bottom tier. No sun in your eyes (problem in Midland Road, which is also good). Plenty of families up there so fewer potty mouths than in Kop. Toilets are generally poor all around the ground but the traps with the thin wooden rims are the worst. Maybe not an issue with older kids but bottom tier of Sunwin are awful if you are taking your daughter who needs to sit! Seem to recall Midland Road having terrible toilets too. Maybe they’ve upgraded in recent years though.

Parking is poor around the ground tbh and will involve a walk. NW corner is awful getting out of. Other areas much of a muchness.

Tearbars in the top tiers are always less stocked than the bottom tiers and usually run out of bits before HT.

I guess a lot of stuff is subjective but, either way, hope you all enjoy the game!

Kids do get close to the players warming up us selfies etc in the main stand though NM.
Many kids get down to the front and do this.
Us old buggers just sit, eat our pies and watch!!

I think my trouble is that I sit, eat my pie and don't bother watching.

    Not until kick off anyway!

You’ll also get the foul and abusive language from those horrible scroty Mancs.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate the responses, feedback and generous offer. Sounds like you have the same issues of comfort v atmosphere v passion v safety v swearing and so on that is debated forever at derby. As most have pointed out, it’s up to the individual and the occasion. Nice to be able to choose. Will let you know when and where we go. Looking forward to the first of many games. Hopefully you’re promoted and I can help with any questions you have with a trip to PP. Thanks again and best wishes :)

Tomorrow is the big day. We have tickets for the Cobblers game, sitting in the family stand. Really looking forward to it and will report back how the day goes. Should be a good top of the table clash. Hopefully lots of Bradford goals and a win!!
    Cheers.

Enjoy your day mate. One word of advice through experience, make sure they're well wrapped up it's going to be a cold one. It can hamper the kids experience when they're freezing cold - my lad didn't want to go again for a while as he was sat there shivering and that was on an October afternoon in 11/12c, tomorrow it'll be into single figures. It's easy to assume a coat and hat will be alright but get them in double socks and plenty of layers with gloves too.

That's what I usually wear at VP, it's a cold place.
Hope the football keeps everyone warm tomorrow.

Only half as cold as those games at Odsal……..They were a lousy experience.

    But aye, wrap up warm.

All good advice ta. I remember being a nipper and freezing my wotsits off at games in the 80s! It’ll be hard getting the kids out of shorts though. They’re mad!
I’ve packed my thermals and will be buying my first ever non Derby hat tomorrow at the club shop. Got a feeling I’ll be going to a lot of Bradford games if he gets the bug tomorrow :)
