Hope Vaughan injury not too bad. We really are unlucky with injuries.

Recalling Doyle on January 1st is surely a no brainer given the lack of depth and cover up front

Sometimes the cup games played under the floodlights can be belters. Remember the millwall game from a few years ago or even the Peterborough game last season, the atmosphere at both those was far better than at any league game you'll ever get in league 2. Desperately need the money a cup run could produce so tomorrow nights game really is a must win, a cup run could mean the difference between keeping a couple of the loan players and possibly bringing Doyle back.

Or maybe provide service of a nature that plays to the strength of the forward and not the opposition centre backs....

The tactic of playing one up front with Vaughan been used to win long ball headers flicking them on to no one shows exactly why Doyle struggled to score when here and why he is so prolific elsewhere in a different system,
The truth is that with Vaughan playing one up front in this system we will struggle to score.

Whitby away if they get through would be a good draw, a nice couple of nights at The Royal.

I despise blank Saturdays. I'd rather be playing Gillingham away than no match at all. Plus any money can go towards strengthening our league promotiom push. I love cup runs. Some of my best City memories over 45 years are of famous cup wins.

Never mind international breaks, you only have to look at what happened to our form last winter when we didn't play for a couple of weeks.

Shrewsbury away is a dull draw but it's winnable.

Last season we did the double over them! Hell,I hope
they remember how crap we were and relate that to
    themselves.

Also, this season they have had two home defeats,
3-0 and 4-0 so their defence needs work. Lets hope
we can win without any injuries and move on.

See where you are coming from young man and my head half agrees with you. Normally, we don't do well in the cup but I have been to Goodison and Stamford Bridge and when that happens, all previous seasons are forgotten. I still remember buying a magazine at Goodison and asking the guy "are we in it"? He replied "who are you"? He smiled at my response; "you might know at quarter to five"

He’s talking rubbish ignore it. If we had a league game Tuesday I might agree, but players should be playing once a week for match sharpness. Imo we made a slow start against Exeter because we didn’t play the Saturday before, we need to play a strong team with maybe a couple of changes like Paudie and Mellor, no more than that.

I thought Oteh was superb yesterday, not just his goal but his all round game was vastly improved from recent weeks. He played a role like Hiwula did under Stuart in that he was dropping deep to link the play, popping up out wide and running in behind, plus he ran his bollocks off.

The atmosphere generated against Millwall was electric. The KOP was sold out and once we were cruising, knowing we were heading to Stamford Bridge in Jan, it really was a joy to watch.

Even Zoko hit the post. Anything can happen tomorrow night - I’ll be there.

Them subs stink to be honest. Need a result Saturday really. Only the cups but 2 losses in a row and no win in 3 isn’t ideal.

My feet are still freezing and that was total dirge in all honesty. We showed a couple of glimpses in first half but overall we couldn't penetrate a soggy brown paper bag.

Vaughan flicking the ball on to no one near the touchline doesn't constitute attacking play in my book. Otherwise he was out of the game for long periods.

Akpan complete and utter dog shite. Was hoping the ref would book him a second time and send him off he was that useless.

Our only real threat was from Connor Wood's crosses and he continues to impress.

    Oteh was quiet.

Cooke had a mare first half. Caught in possession or wayward passing.

    Connolly was Ok'ish in patches.

Mellor came on and was so poor. Gets a 3 from me ;)

    Pritchard ran a lot.

BRE headed the ball in every direction possible.

AOC was steady but still hit some dodgy passes across our box when they had players nearby.

Apart from the goal ROD had virtually nothing to do.... as did their keeper.

To be fair they were not any better than us they just managed the game by blatent time wasting after the goal.

GB said their goal was offside but I couldn't tell from where I was. It looked like their lad got in front of BRE? and diverted the ball in.
