Whatever way you want to look at it, fact is we're out of all cups by November and we've had 4 home cup ties and lost them all. Stefan can't be happy with that considering he wanted a cup run.

Don't need to fight fire with fire Bronco, we didn't miss donaldson today. A blind man could've seen that the tactic of high crosses was idiotic and played straight into Shrewsbury's hands, yet we just don't have a plan B.

 

Again the style of play was my real concern. Shrewsbury were in the most, controlled in possession looking to work the ball. Patient and willing to close down, out of possession.

Again, we play some really poor stuff. Long balls, with no real purpose. Playing to Vaughan high up the pitch with his back to goal. It happens so often and it's predictable and quite honestly, ineffective. When we do get the ball and play down the sides, we look promising. But we turn to type so quickly, hurrying the pass and giving up possession.

Tonight in terms of cutting edge, chances created their wasn't much. But Shrewsbury were much more comfortable in the game throughout and managed the last 25 minutes with few problems.

The last few games, I feel their are many more questions than answers.

Disappointing result but more disappointing in terms of style and for me, Shrewsbury deserved it.

Oh and the 2/1 on Shrewsbury to win was a decent call

 

It will be interesting to hear Bowyers reason for the subs, Otech was poor as were many others but he'is a forward then to bring him off and replace him with Mellor, I could have understood it if he'd brought Paudie on and pushed Everton up top with Vaughan to give their two centeral defenders a game, and again Prichard subbed with Devine, why not Reeves he'd get a run out and he's far better at picking a pass that Danny

For those whom went tonight, do you think the style of play would have benefited Doyle?

Is GB capable of playing to his strengths

 

Can't agree we've missed Donaldson since he got injured at Morcome, still we dont have a midfield player who can play a pass, we just knock it wide and hope when our widemen get the ball in someone gets on the other end of the cross, unfortunatly their centeal defenders usually did.
We had that good chance first half but on the whole created little, can't even say the best team won.

 

My feet are still freezing and that was total dirge in all honesty. We showed a couple of glimpses in first half but overall we couldn't penetrate a soggy brown paper bag.

Vaughan flicking the ball on to no one near the touchline doesn't constitute attacking play in my book. Otherwise he was out of the game for long periods.

Akpan complete and utter dog shite. Was hoping the ref would book him a second time and send him off he was that useless.

Our only real threat was from Connor Wood's crosses and he continues to impress.

Oteh was quiet.

Cooke had a mare first half. Caught in possession or wayward passing.

Connolly was Ok'ish in patches.

Mellor came on and was so poor. Gets a 3 from me

Pritchard ran a lot.

BRE headed the ball in every direction possible.

AOC was steady but still hit some dodgy passes across our box when they had players nearby.

Apart from the goal ROD had virtually nothing to do.... as did their keeper.

To be fair they were not any better than us they just managed the game by blatent time wasting after the goal.

GB said their goal was offside but I couldn't tell from where I was. It looked like their lad got in front of BRE? and diverted the ball in.

 

No, tonight Doyle would've been useless as would aguero and ronaldo given the fact we created one chance all game. And the team has the ability to create chances for doyle if only Bowyer released the shackles a bit and allowed him to be a goalscorer and didn't expect much else from him.

 

And that itself maybe the issue, GB. Will he release the shackles, I have my doubts

 

Was that all he could muster from a dire performance" there goal was offside" what did he say about his bizarre substitutions a full 10 minutes after they'd score and with only 13 minutes to play.
There was so much wrong with that game tonight, we lacked everything decent teams produce, never mined a win at Plymouth will have us buzzing again .

 

I would have to hear it again but I could swear he said he made the substitutions to give us more up top!!!!

 

He said that the reason for the 2 subs was that when that happened at their place in the original game, it caused them problems. Yeah I know. Bemused me and everyone around me.
Should have gone 3 at the back and pushed 3 at the top to at least give them something to think about. Instead we left the FA cup with not even a whimper.

 

Thanks, so we have to ask why didn't he do it straight after they'd scored, for me he would have been better bringing Paudie on and sticking Everton up front, and as for Danny repacing Akpan we had possibly one of the most creative players at the club getting spells in his arse sat on the bench surely Reeves would have been a better option we had nothing too lose, for me piss poor subs on the night and overall a very poor game to watch both sides produced little to excite the watching public.

 

I thought Shrewsbury controlled the game once they took the lead, not because they were the better side but to me our heads went down and that can't be tolerated, past teams would have gone for it with the time left, we had nothing to lose.

 

Very poor. They were nothing special one chance one goal ,although aside from a few half chances we were no better. Odd game, never had a cup tie feel about it, was like last year when that goal went in you just knew it was game over.

The subs at one nil down were just unfathomable, i genuinely dont think he wanted extra time.

We look at our best when playing 442 with 2 wide, yes we get stretched and over run at times but its so much better to watch and we win the majority. If donaldson comes back he wont leave him or vaughan out so we will revert back to that , which begs the question why does he never try vaughan and oteh together? Tonight would have been ideal

 

Reeves isn't superman. Nearly 2 years out mate. Can't you get your head round that.

Where was Taylor? Danny for Akpan makes no sense though.

 

For someone so bothered about the club its quite revealing that you weren't bothered tonight to go to the game.
